What's everyone doing for cardio? What's your routine? What works best for cutting up with minimal muscle loss

For what purpose are you doing the cardio? To improve your fitness for some performance purpose? For cardiovascular health? Just to burn extra calories? To help with fat loss?

My best suggestion to you will depend on what your goal is here.

3 mile run first thing in the morning with 5 10 yd sprints at the half way point and 5 40 yard gassers at he end of my run. Will do a 20 minute run pwo also. Been doing this for years. Sometimes I bike but I would rather run.

Hit the electrical in my garage right when alarm goes off. Medium intensity fasted cardio. Increase duration and frequency throughout length of cut. If I get to where I need more than just the fasted cardio I hit the stair stepper post workout. Again medium intensity.

To answer your question then, I do high intensity conditioning sessions 3x per week, usually lasting 15-20 min, which consists of stuff like sprints, multiple high intensity 1/4 mile runs, stuff like that. I also do at least 30 min of additional low intensity cardio like incline walking or biking almost every day now since I'm cutting.

I hope this helps :)

Yeah it does! Thank you, I'm just interested in cardio routines cuz I'm on a cardio kick right now.

For the sake of injury prevention I avoid all impact aerobics. Between the weights and plyos my joints have all they can handle. I do mostly cycling - hills and interval training. The intervals are great for improving exercise recovery rate, BTW. Occasionally I throw on the headphones and mix in a long static speed session. 2-3x per week.

I have been swimming.Works wonders for my doms as well.

I might try swimming cuz my knee's are takin a beating and I have some knee issues, back when I was a teenager I would swim and after I got done I was fuck'n pumped out every muscle was activated it was awesome! I felt swole as fuck.

Swimming is actually a good alternative and I can relate to what you said about the whole body being activated and pumped.Good for rehabbing injurys I would think.

I used to be on swim team in high school. Cheerleaders jocked us over the football players because of the physique it gives you, and we could run laps around the football guys. You need to swim a shit ton but it will give you a nice v shape. Try a stroke called the butterfly, that will burn calories and kick your ass.

Haganah is my cardio at least 5 times a week 1 to 2 hours at a time..keeps you going and you learn something at the same time(gotta like it tho).

My bicycle is all I use, it has street tires and I ride it on the sidewalks. I do high intensity cardio sometimes but usually just go a few miles at an even pace. If it's too cold out I ride my stationary bike, but it's not as effective or as much fun as the real thing IMO.

I do boxing on a heavy bag sometimes or sprinting. Honestly I think the best cardio is heavy compound lifts like squats and deads for high reps. My cardio has dramatically improved when I stopped doing traditional cardio all together which i know makes no sense. Only thing that changed was the deadlifting for higher reps and squats.

As for toning up I rather just diet better.

I've never been as massive as some of you guys so these rules might not apply when you are over 205lbs.

Just a weekly game of basketball every saturday.
From like 9 pm -2 am or when ever they decided to turn the lights out.
Hell of a mean workout when you decided to play full court.

I swam competitively when I was younger. The butterfly was my absolute least favorite stroke lol. I was quicker with the doggy paddle than the butterfly lol.

I hated the butterfly, 500 free and the im medley. I liked the short distance sprints and breast stroke. I tried swimming the other day and was pretty beat after a 500.

I was good at breast stroke and front stroke. Yea, after years of not swimming competitively, even short distances now give me the lactic acid burn.
