German Volume Training (GVT)

Did this for the first time in years today with squats. Absolutely taxed the shit out of me both cardio, muscles and left me shaky as a leaf at the end. Just wondering if anyone does this and how often should it be included into a routine. Just felt like something different today to break the boredom and it certainly didn't disappoint.

Ok just found what you're talking about. Looks good might give it a crack this morning on bench. How often do you do it to achieve the best results?

I was doing it 4x week. My suggestion would be to do the program as Laid out by poliquin before making any adjustments.

Gvt on leg day. Pretty sure youre going to regret that decision tomorrow lol

I like gvt for my arm and leg days lately.Been keeping it strength oriented for everything else..man I want that 405 bench.

Tried AGVT on deadlift today 75% 1RM. 10x5x145kg (319lb). Had to extend the breaks after set 5 but got out ten. Had planned on doing other stuff but was completely spent. Found a program for it will read it today. May need rest day tomorrow lol.

I prefer 5/3/1 for deads

I have done 10x10 for deads but it can be detrimental. Even though you might escape injury doing it your form will break down- and practicing such a technical movement incorrectly when gassed isn't a good idea imo. 10x10 glute ham raises holding a plate is safe and builds dead strength.

You're right can't see myself doing them too often. Form felt alright but can see where you're coming from.
