Eating before bed to grow! last meal of the day. do you?

You can use the insulin spikes during the day but (from what I know before bed) avoid eating soley high gi carbs like watermelon because insulin can interfere with gh secretion.

. In obese subjects, as previously reported in normals, the GH response to GHRH was inversely correlated with the mean serum insulin (r = -.70, P < .01). In conclusion, our data indicate that in the obese, as in normal subjects, the GH response to GHRH is a function of insulin levels.

This study doesn't say what you think it does. First of all there were only 6 participants and they were obese so it's not necessarily a direct relationship with individuals wih normal body composition and 6 test subjects isn't that much but most importantly they tested HYPERINSULINEMIA and not normal physiological insulin manipulations as you'd have with watermelon.

nothing new. high blood glucose (maybe not insulin), high ffa, lowered gh response.
more melatonin, more gh. 10 mg for me. nite, nite.

The finding that after both the acipimox treatment and the insulin clamp the obese still show higher insulin levels and a lower GH response to GHRH than normal subjects suggests that hyperinsulinemia is a major determinant of the reduced GH release associated with obesity.

cheers for the link bro! I have a fair idea of what to include into a before bed meal now when I put it into my diet plan.

I will be having almonds, greek yoghurt, and cottage cheese in my before bed snack maybe a scoop of whey. light easy cheap and effective :)

If I'm trying to gain I drink a few scoops of whey protein right before bed, but since I've been cutting for summer I switched it to 10 oz of tuna fish instead. If for some reason Im not able to get nutrition right before bed I wake up from hunger around 5 and then I'm pissed for the rest of the day. Sometimes I fast when I get up until around lunch time if I'm trying to throw in a lean day, but that last meal of the day is not negotiable for me even on a deficit diet.
