Hey guys, I'm Mana. I've been posting on Meso for just a little while. I didn't even know this sub-forum existed.

I'm 5'11" and weigh 242. 32 years young. I just started back training hard in March. I had a good bit of time away from the gym because ironically I broke my back while at the gym. Freak accident.

Took a whole lot longer to heal than I'd imagined.

I gain pretty easily. I've always struggled more with keeping fat off than increasing lifts or improving my muscle mass.

Right now, for me, diet is extremely important. I have no issue eating enough calories... On the contrary I have to make sure not to eat more than my daily allotment.

I had no prior AAS experience until I started TRT a couple of years ago.

After I broke my back, I was on painkillers for six months. I became extremely sluggish and my Total T at 8AM was 146. Even after discontinuing the painkillers my T hovered in the low to mid 300s.

I felt better the first couple of weeks of TRT, but I had a doctor that knew nothing about hcg or AIs. Finally found an ok doc not too long ago, but he is expensive. Started blasting and crusing a little over a year ago.

I'm here to learn, contribute where I can, and ultimately get back to a nice and shredded 210-215. I know the 242 weight seems like a lot, but I took a break from TRT earlier this year. When I resumed I was 224, and in less than three months I was up to 242. Some were gains but a good bit of it is water.

Take Care,
Mana

Slipped while doing squats. I couldn't drop the weight in time and it loaded my spine. I crushed T7. It sucked really bad. Continues to suck. But after 3 years it is about 75-80%. I just have to take some ibuprofen from time to time.

Honestly working out doesn't bother it. Standing is what bothers it more than anything. So if I am just standing around or cooking something that requires staying at the stove -- I get a lot of pain that way. While at the gym? 98% fine. Every once in awhile I will tweak a spot, but for the most part I'm good while there.

Welcome

Excellent choice discontinuing the painkillers...usually only add more problems. Was that your doctors decision or yours? Just curious.

Welcome, and props for kicking the painkillers. I had the same battle after sustaining a serious head injury years ago and acquired depression.

Mine. I was in pain management. Fully compliant. Didn't abuse my medication or use anything other than what I was prescribed. The doctor told me I would be on pain medicine for life. At first, I accepted it since I couldn't work or pick-up my daughter without it.

I was on painkillers for six months. I then discontinued them for about two months after I had my first epidural. When the epidurals stopped being effective I went back on painkillers.

At the time my job required extensive travel. A combination of long car/plane rides, hotel beds, and standing for presentations really made it difficult to function without the painkillers.

It really sucked. But, I decided that being chained to a pill wasn't for me. I had to plan all work trips and vacations around refill dates. I just hated having to rely on a medicine. My doctor told me "it is the same as taking medicine for BP," but we all know that isn't accurate.

It was surprisingly easy for me to discontinue. I asked my pain medicine doctor to help me do a taper plan, but he said that was illegal. He referred me to a psych that prescribed Suboxone. It was super simple to switch over to that. Did that for about six week and then stopped. Mild withdrawals.

The saving grace for me is that I didn't have an addiction. I had no desire to take pain medicine. I hated the drowsiness and fatigue it caused. I had no energy. I also had zero and I mean ZERO sex drive.

I was physically dependent due to the amount of time I was on pain medication. But, I didn't have the mental or psychological addiction or cravings. I've never taken pain medicine since I stopped. Never had any desire to do so. About a month ago I found 4 Oxycontin 40s. I just laughed and flushed them.

I realize I am extremely lucky, and most people have an almost insurmountable battle to stop opioids. I'm not special nor do I have extra willpower or mental toughness. I just have genetic material somewhere that makes me dislike the feeling of opioids. Most people aren't that lucky.

Hope that explains things... Sorry for the novel.

You are definitely lucky. I knew it had to be your decision, most doctors love to kept their patients drugged up imo. Example: your pain medicine dr saying its illegal to give you less. Then referring you to another that would give you something even worse. Crazy!!

Good Luck Brother
