Fastest way to build muscle for beginners with previous lifting experience

So to clarify the heading... I am just starting bodybuilding again after about 10 years off. Was previously just doing an upper/lower body split with good success. I have good form etc...

I'm specifically wanting to know about splits/routines not diet.

Please explain your reasoning if you can.
