Critique my diet

You can chop up parsley and add it when it's hot. Or, do a chipotle style with lime, cilantro and a pinch of salt w/ some oil.

Yeah, if price is a concern the little packs aren't ideal. They sure are convenient, though. At my local grocery it's a 2 pack for like $1.29...

The best flavorings you can add to white rice imo is either Dill or Saffron. Dill is delicious in white rice and provides a lot of flavor. Saffron is great as well but much more subtle.

Or just cook it in some chicken broth over plain water.

That's good too, although I find that tastes better for brown rice rather than white rice. Add chicken broth bouillons to brown rice and you basically have those flavored ready made microwave packets that everyone loves for much cheaper.

I'm biased towards saffron though. The rich smell it gives off is fucking amazing.

Except they charge 2-3 dollars for $0.5 worth of rice.
Do you add anything to it? Interested in some simple ingredients to add flavour.

Dill or saffron like WC said or sometimes I'll just out some orgenano and garlic powder in it. A lot of middle eastern dishes have sauces with them which mix well with the rice. Another option I do a lot is put my salad over the rice and let the homemade dressing soak into it

Rice and dill looks good! I haven't had saffron in ages. I'll give them both a try

In Australia stuff like that would be $4-5 on special. So like $98-122 a week on rice.

This sounds damn good!

If you want recipes for specific dishes let me know. I'm Lebanese so I know a thing or two.

I love to cook. I'm such a lazy cleaner upper after lol. Usually make someone else do it whenever possible.

I do but she's about an hour away so we don't see each other as frequently as I'd like. We made dinner on Saturday, well I cooked and she did the clean up. Just how I like it :D
Another reason i keep it simple. Less to clean up! 7 meals i use 1 pot, 1 pan and a pair of tongs. Still feels like too much cleaning up.

Oh. My. God.

I buy like 50lb bags of Jasmine Rice at Costco for ~$20, from what I can recall. Wow.

Want to make easy money?
Cook rice, put it in a container and sell it.
Could sell it in aus for $3.50 each if you add shredded spinach and label it as healthy.
