Feedback - 2 Filtration devices

LOL, 250ml vs 10ml, hmmmm.......main reason why I'm looking at something a little more efficient.:)

Oh yeah, I've read horror stories regarding those plastic receivers. I'm not trying to go through that, that's for sure.

Those Hybex Jars look nice, but damn 500ml?;) I was thinking along the lines of 200-250ml! Haha What is your preference regarding bottle top filters?

They make the Hybex in 250ml sizes I believe.

I've only used whatman Zapcap fikters personally.

Gentleman, for those that have either of these 2 filtration devices or similar, do you mind sharing your feedback regarding them? Both positives and negatives.

I'm really torn between the above or bottle top filters, screw top media bottles, and septa top caps.

I did the same a got one of those but I never use it. I was never totally sure I could sterilize everything. Better to buy the throw away zap cap filters they're only $15 and you can brew 300-500 ml. They screw right into a media bottle.

You can get glass media bottles for $15. No need for the plastic ones.

I appreciate your responses @Docd187123 and @BuiltBig. I have looked into bottle top filters and they are fairly inexpensive. Where do you normally get yours? MedLabSupplies?

TBH with you, no. I will not be doing much filtering, strictly personal but finally want a nice setup that I do not have to be standing over the entire filtering process. I did some #'s and after filtering a few compounds the start-up costs are well worth it and filter membranes are cents on the dollar.

BTW, the filter membranes that I'll purchase if I go w/this setup are 'sterile nyl0n membr@ne f1lter 47mm 0.22um'.

Thanks for the feedback guys.
Gpz is best. Cheap with fast delivery.

$15 to filter 300ml-500ml is definitely a great price. I appreciate you guys' feedback

@trytodo, no, I have not pulled the plunge yet. I'm still 50/50 on this set-up or just get a few media bottles and bottle top filters.
Personally my volume is so small that I have only used syringe filters and bottle tops (with great success), but that setup sure does look sexy. If I were going to brew a large batch to stock up on supplies I might be tempted to look into that just for the neat factor alone.
