Tendinitis already tried shots...Fml.

I recently had the platlet injection for tendinitis on the inside of my elbow. Worked great for me. I had s verbal cortisone injections over the course of two years before hand. I will tell you the shot hurt like hell and my insurance would not cover it. I also had 4 weeks of rest doing legs every other day after the shot I'm now back to doing isolation exercises that I haven't done for 2 yrs. pain free

@jJjburton

Brother I'm not ignoring you I just saw this ton of helpful info. Im gonna finish up eating with my daughter and answer everything. Will be right back!

There are different ranges of pain for tendonitis. Which one do you have.

1-Hurts only after exercise
2-hurts in begininging of exercise, then pain fades away when you are warmed up.But returns after you are cooled down. But stops 30 mintes later.
3-Hurts all the time during exercise and stops 30 min after exercise.
4- Hurts all the time

Doctors say that if its a 4, then injections (Platelet injections) which someone brought up before. Last option is surgery. I think otherwise. I literally thought my tendonitis was going to be the end of me. I couldn't do anything. I couldn't put on my socks. Walk up stairs. I lost my ability to play basketball obviously. I was pissed because I started to dunk. Which is what caused it. I would never warm up and satrt jumping to dunk. Deadlifting was was made my knee get better. I still can't start my workout with squats I have to do a 10 minute bike warmup. Then do hammy curls. then deadlifts. then I can squat. If i do anything else. I fuck up my tendonitis. I am dunking again. FINALLY. I am getting pretty good at it too. It took a while to heal.

I decided to go to school for PT. Because I wanted to learn how to heal my injury. Also keep it healed. I am in my last semester. Not in grad school. I have been to physical therapy as well. With electrical pulse therapy. Which helps. Also I did accupuncture. Which helped a little. But it hurts so much when they stick the needled in and move them up and down. Almost too much.

Now I always warm up before doing anything that will hr my knee. I used to almost an hour of warm-ups so my knee could make it through a bball game.

So that's what I have done.

You can heal the pain. You must stop doing things that hurt it though. This is your only way.

So what do you rate the pain? 1,2,3,4

Heat is your friend. Ice only after a major set back AKA, when swelling in apparent.
Heat otherwise. Eccentric exercises are only good, when you are not in pain. If you feel the slightest bit of pain when doing the eccentric execises. STOP. Rest/do other body parts for 1 week. Then try the eccentric exercises with basically zero weight. Doctors say to do these 2-3 times a day. You should feel know pain while doing these. Then your are doing them right. Look them up online. The eccentric exercises for elbow tendonitis. If you are sure it is tendonitis in the first place.

Which area does it hurt. The golfers Elbow part? Or Medial Epicondyle?

I would rate the pain a level 3 because even at work I put my fingers on the tips of elbows and push. The pain is present.
However voodoo bands are helpin a ton will explain further in just a bit...

Honestly man I havnt deloaded much besides giving up skull crushers. I warm up a lot before push exercises such as bench and go slow on tricep day. It's hard to give up the iron and the progress I've made. I've been in and out this game long time and now I'm a lifer on trt, so this is my life/hobby. I got a generous trt doc that is understanding if I use extra compounds so he works with me.

However, he's not the doc that gave me the steroid shots to begin with. That was my family doc but it only lasted 4~5 weeks before pain came back.

Guess il do like you said if it gets really bad and concentrate on legs or shoulders. Calves, shit I don't know lol.

Yesterday's workout was a little painful but the the pain subsided after a few intense sets. It was chest day and I started on dumbbell flat bench. Warmed up with the 50's for 3 sets of 20 reps. Then grabbed the 105's for 10 reps. Again 105's but this time for 9 reps. First set with 105's pain was present on both elbows and was a bitch. On a scale of 1~10, I'd rate it a 6, but pushed through it and it faded. Then said F it and grabbed the 115's and did 2 sets for 7 reps. No pain. Continued with 3 other exercises. Dumbbell flys, incline press, and hammer strength machine incline. No pain.

Came home and iced elbows. Also used the voodoo band tight around tricep and forearm areas. That tight band helped and ton the next day. Hardly any pain pushing on tips of elbows. Very impressed with voodoo band technique.

That same crossfit friend said to look for a doc that injects stem cells which I've never heard of. Honestly was just thinking of continuing the voodoo band method and ice/heat. Maybe some nandrolone and if I get some extra cash HGH. Thoughts?

Also do not touch it then if that hurts it. But does it hurt when moving around during the day if you don't touch it?

Does it hurt when you do chest? Does it hurt when you do back? Does it hurt when you do shoulers? Biceps? Triceps? For all of the exercises that you do. Or can you do some tricep exercises and not others. For example can you do rope triceps, but not close grip flat bench. Or can you do lateral raises but not do OHP. If this is the case then just do the exercises for triceps that don't hurt it, for one month. Same with chests and back, and biceps. You can lift those muscles.

Does it hurt when doing regular activities if you do not touch it, at work or home?

Don't touch it lol if it hurts whe you do that!.

STOP TOUCHING IT!!

It is not that bad then. If the pain goes away when you exercise. No need to injections, or anything yet. That pain you feel I felt 24/7. Even when sitting down. I healed mine completely. You can do it too.

Also just do a couple more warm-ups. between the 50's and the 105's. You will not feel pain if you warm-up more.

Honeslty if you are not serious about healing it. Its not going to heal you will have it forever.

It's hurts when I do chest. It does not hurt when I do back. It does hurt a little when I do military press on shoulders.

Bicep exercises only a little on starlight bar curls. Triceps exercises it does but warm up a lot and work into it. Then the pain fades s little until after the workout. Lateral raises are no problem. However hammer curls were a bitch and pain until I started doing the voodoo band compression therapy. Then that pain went away after a few compression sessions.

Ok, so if you can find exercises to do, that does not aggrevate it, you can work out everything. Doing this allows you to strengthen the muscles and not increase injury. Which is obviously what you want. One month of this and you will see a crazy improvement.
Never heard of voodoo. But if it works great.

Chest-
Don't work out chest for one week, if what I am about to say doesn't work for you. -Maybe try the smith machine for chest? Or a underhand grip not an overhand grip.
-Do flys only.
-Do dumbell, but with a vertical grip/fly grip, but push, don't fly.
-Try out the hammer press machines.
-But when trying new things go light to feel if pain is present.
Just until the tendon heals a little bit. Every time you lift and feel pain, you are causing inflamtion/micro tears to the area.

Back-
no pain=fair game

Shoulders-
No over head presses, for just a little bit.
-Do lateral raises, shrugs, ffront raises. You get it...
-Smith machine press(maybe)
-Arnold press if this has no pain(I think this will hurt you though)

Biceps-
No straight bar.
Try cross body hammers, instead of infront of you hammers.
Reverse curls??
EzCurl bar???
Rope curls?????? LOL Get itt...

Triceps-
Rope
Dip machine
Any cable

If it hurts that means you either did not warm up enough.Or do lighter weight with high reps. Just for the tendon to become less inflammed. I bet you will be so happy when you lift pain free. Try heat before you lift!

Lol I feel and hear what you're sayin bro! If I feel pain don't do it. Train around it. Will have to give this a go cuz this next blast I gotta grow with no interruptions!

After a workout is the worst the pain is excrutiating. I was bed riden once after I jumped with my bad knee, 5 jumps Tthat was it. The first 3 were fine then the forth and fifth, I was done for.

Basketball was my life, but my injury took it away so I needed to heal it. I did heal it, and love the game again. Yours is not as bad as mine. It can be though. So if you don't take care of it now, forget it. You will not be able to do any lifting, if this keep getting worse. Then who's the fool. Then you really lose everything. Surgery never works good, for this injury either. Platlet and stem cell injections claim to work.

Before my injury I could only dunk one handed. Now I can dunk two handed. Even doing reverse and stuff.

Ok lol. my bad. I just feel your pain.
