Been reading a lot about Vince Gironda lately. Since I'm already all about the 30 seconds or less rest, I'm going to give his 8x8 program a shot.
Starting it off tomorrow (hopefully) with chest, since it's my most lagging group.

Did you read his meals? Haha steak n eggs baby. Claims you "don't need carbs"
Obviously has never tried banana pudding.

Hahaha. Yup! Not an advocate of chicken. Red meats. Huge keto guy.
Hey man he looks good. Gonna give this 8x8 a shot.
Supposedly at any given moment there's only like 2 tbsp of glucose in your blood. Your body really doesn't need carbs, or at least I don't think it does. But I need carbs... the good kind ;) like banana pudding.
But maybe if Vince had my wife's banana pudding.... he would change his mind.

Well last night I put the laptop on the floor out of laziness because I didn't want to leave bed, and this morning when I woke up, all 70lbs of a very happy and very jumpy pitbull landed right on the laptop. Cracked the screen so I will be out of my snazzy spreadsheets for a minute.
Here's my measurements. Will get my weight when I go to the gym.

Gym felt great.
Not bad considering the past few days, BUT forgot to weigh myself. Not really a priority of mine.
All sets done with 30 seconds or less of rest
Did high cable fly 8x8 @ 50lbs
Flat barbell bench 4x8 @225, 4x8 @185
Incline DB Press palms facing inward 8x8 @45
Chest Dips 8x8 @ bodyweight
EZ bar curl 8x8 @50
DB Lateral raise 8x8 @ 25
S1: DB low chest fly 4x8 @15
S2: Svend press 4x8 @ 20lbs

I think that was everything. Went in without a plan. Going to start doing that for a while. Liking the 8x8.... probably give it a few weeks and see what it does.

Could ya have done more than 8 on the first few sets?

Sick workout. The 8x8's make me sweat like a bitch, i've even tried his 10x10 but it was too much of a hit on strength. Vince is a huge advocate of the neck press, (guillotine press) also. Crazy stretch. Larry Scott the first Mr. Olympia claimed thats all he needed for chest development and Vince was his trainer. Something to take note of.

Oh yes.
The cable flyes were way too light. On bench I usually start with 225 warm up and hit 15 reps or so... figured I would be able to get at least 7 good sets but nope. Really liked it though.
Incline was way too light too.... think next time I will use the hammer strength free motion machine.

I've done the neck press a while ago.... like when I was 17 or 18. Yeah Larry Scott also made the preacher curl... or at least I think he was the guy. He said it gave him his football thick biceps.

I might pick it up on my 2nd chest day.
I did the chest Dips the way Vince described them and damn.... didn't even feel it in my triceps or shoulders. Purely in my chest and a little in my back.

I usually sweat pretty decent, but I started back on bronkaid so today I was pouring

If there was ever a place that was specifically tailored to Leancuisine... I feel it would be kroger.
Stopped in there today to pick up some more apples, guac, and cottage cheese and well.... found these little gems. 4 for $5.

Also made ground beef 80/20 8oz, 56g cheddar, 4oz guac, and verde picante.

Well I shaved my arms and legs the other day... and whatever being in the sky that watched me do so laughed and cursed me with a pretty gnarly case of razor burn.
I tried the whole dawn dish washing soap thing for this, and the bit of acne on my back I'm getting from the mast but didn't do much.

Read online to crush up some aspirin and mix it with a bit of water to make a paste and spread it over the affected area and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Picture was taken right before I put the paste on, and the next was taken right after I washed it off. Both pictures were taken of my right arm. Not bad.
Shit supposedly works for acne too.

Felt great today. Did back, triceps, calves, and a little bit of chest for shits n giggles. 30 secs or less for rest.
Wide grip pull ups 8x8 @bodyweight
Low pulley row 8x8@ 160
Wide grip cable row 8x8 @160
Pulldown 8x8 @200
Shrugs 10x8 @225
Overhead extension 8x8 @125
Standing Calf Raise 8x8 @100
High Cable fly 8x8 @60
Guillotine press 4x8 @135
Guillotine presses were pretty damn killer. Little bit wider grip than shoulders, brought it down to where my esophagus and collar bone meet and paused for a second. Pretty killer outer/upper Pec pump.
Did 4 min tabs of rope slams and 4 minutes of plate twists.

I dig the guillotine press
But bet your bottom dollar you sacrifice your ego on that lift
If you dont you WILL get injured
It places the shoulders in such a compromised position.
Stay good bro

Absolutely haha. 135 was a good comfortable weight. Easy to get up and down but still felt real good on the chest. Shoulders felt great, but if I got anymore weight on there I'm sure that would be a different story.

Went walking today for a few miles with the wife. Took the pups out and enjoyed some sun.

Just ordered some shock collars that have 2 controlled by 1 remote. Cant wait to finally take both pups off leash without worry of running into any issues.
