Quick question about flushing filters

Is it necessary to flush your whatman filter to get all the product out? I thought I had read to keep some carrier oil out of the mix and flush the whatman with it at the end of filling each vial. So in a 10ml vial, keep 2ml gso and run it through at the end. I looked just now and what I read didn't mention it. Would save a small amount of time if it's not required.

The technique I read just now said to mix the bb and carrier oil, then add the powder. In my other thread, I was told to just add the bb and powder and that would dissolve it, then add gso and ba after.

It's all going down the same hole. In whichever order you want to do it is up to you. Just I wouldn't Add the powder first. As far as flushing the filter that too is up to you. Do you want to spend an extra few minutes and add an extra step to save a few cents? I mean, if your brewing a few ml then you may want to do it. If your brewing a few hundred then maybe not.

Yes, this is true. You can flush like 2ml through filter and get the 2ml that is trapped by replacing it with the pure oil. I do not. It's not worth my time. Depending on your carrier, whether your using a caulking gun and whether your fingers are still willing to push/squeeze.

It's my first go at this so I've decided to "rough it" with whatman filters and good ole finger pressure. If it goes ok, I'll continue this way since I'll only be making small quantities. But I'd be willing to bet, I'll be looking at alternate filtering equipment for next time.

Go buy a caulking gun for like 4 bucks. A 60cc syringe will fit in there with 40 to 50ml (depending on syringe brand) and filter warm. If not you'll wish you had.

I saw a picture of a caulk gun all rigged up for this purpose, but couldn't exactly make out what all they had on that thing to make it work. Now I'm going to have to go look for that pic again. I don't have to brew right now as I have plenty of ugl horribly painful stuff I am using. I found out yesterday if I split the npp I'm using into two different .5ml doses, it isn't as bad.

For a one time 50ml batch, how awful will it be doing it manuallly on a scale of this sucks to f-this I quit, don't care about the wasted gear?

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post the pic, but I found the one of that weird setup. But I also found another that was just as you described with a 60ml syringe sitting perfectly in there. Guess I'll wait till I can get some 60cc syringes.

It will fucking suck... you don't have to rig anything up. Just put the filled 60cc syringe inside the gun (filter will be just outside the bottom lip of the gun) and squeeze. Nothing fancy.

Well, I was wrong about it easing the pip by dividing the npp into 2 smaller pins. Don't know why that crap hurts so much. I pin at night and the next day it's not too bad, th3 day after that is when it fully sets in.

But I couldn't find a way to adapt the 30ml syringes I currently have to work with my caulk gun so I wait for the 60ml ones I ordered to come in.

I still haven't brewed mine. I'm using the ugl stuff I have. That's why I want to brew my own and perfect it.

Yes, but it's not something I brewed. Tren ace always causes me pip, but it's smooth compared to this npp. It's 100mg/ml from a place I buy lots of stuff from.

I'm hoping my own brew will be better. Heck, I still have about 10-12 vials of the ugl npp. If my brew comes out painless, I'll probably just toss those. Ha

What recipe and carrier oil do you use? I'm planning for gso, 1%ba, and 10%bb to start with. If I need more bb, I'll change it up.

One more question. What are you pinning with? I'm using a 25g 1" and wondering if the presssure of pushing oil through a small pin is causing some of my pain. I inject very slowly rather than trying to push hard. Thinking of going larger, but only have 21g at the moment and don't want to buy a box of 23g if that isn't my cause of pip. And don't exactly want to use 21 im some places either.

I find the deeper I go the less pain I get.
Was using 23 g 1 inch
Went to 11/2 inch and no more pain.
