Non sterile PVDF membrane

But the problem is also have a sterile membrane compatible with the type of wettability can be hydrophilic or hydrophobic. And chemically compatible with Ba and / or Bb. And it is the case for an aqueous or oily solution.

The whatmans zapcaps are nylon I believe and chemically resistant so they're fine for filtering gear.

The most chemically compatible are Nylon (PA), PTFE and / or RC with alcohol Ba and Bb ester (see annex).
The measures are in accordance with the type of Millipore filter in my case (47 mm) use all of borosilicate glass in order to clean them and use them again without having to discard.
The porosity should be 0.22um, in order to discard the maximum contamination, on the other hand lost a little in the filtration rate.
And the membranes must be sterile to prevent contamination. The problem that not all are provided so then you have to sterilize them in a autoclave at 121 ° C.
There are two types of membrane according to the wettability: hydrophilic
(Aqueous solutions) and hydrophobic (oily solutions). We do basically two solutions: aqueous (winstrol) and oily (various).

Then the membrane should be:

oily solutions - Nylon, PTFE and/or RC with 47 mm diameter and 0.22um pore - sterile and hydrophobic.

Aqueous Solutions - Nylon, PTFE and/or RC with 47 mm diameter and 0.22um pore - sterile and hydrophilic.

The problem is that you will not find these features all the same membrane !!!!

The diameter of the filter only matters for how fast you want to filter and therefor isn't a must. You're overthinking this by far.

I think that this is a nice start, the membrane must be sterilized before use.
