Has Anyone Used Silk Road to Buy or Sell Steroids?

Reminds me of the guy on NBC getting busted for writing a book on how to make Ecstasy under another name he suggested a website to buy the chemicals (which he ran and owned).

Fucked up. I used to buy my GBL from this guy pre-2000 for 27$/liter:eek: No questions asked. He knew what was up back in 1998 when I first went to 'visit' him.

Digital Citizens Alliance Fellow Garth Bruen told ABCNews.com that he's been pouring over the complaint against Ulbricht since it was released, and he said it seems the alleged drug kingpin's reluctance to spend money on shielding his dealings did him in.

"He made what I would say were extremely amateur mistakes. He had fake IDs shipped to his home address. I can't think of anything more bone-headed," Bruen said. "Silk Road sold access to private anonymous mail drops, yet he wouldn't spend the money to do it himself."...

Ulbricht had a reputation for being very miserly with his Silk Road employees, especially with those he was entrusting secrets to, Bruen said.

"The fact that he was sharing an apartment to save money is kind of shocking to me, when he could have rented his own house. He was exposing himself to other people," he said...

But it may have been not following his own advice that led to his capture. "They haven't been caught yet, so they think they won't be caught," Bruen said. "He was cheap. If he had spent money on creating layers of privacy, it would have been harder to get caught."

Very sad indeed.

Too much money to one entity to quickly. The way he got caught just seems dumb, but I'm not sure I believe all of that. Remember that Sabu works for the governement as Agent X now....

A lot of this bad publicity I would venture to say is put on by the anti drug forces - I mean I read an entire article that detailed out the way Tor can be broken down and users identified. You dive into the white paper though and your realize all it is saying is the government can tell if an IP address is in Tor if they want - they still can't break the encryption and read what is there....most people though wouldn't read that deep into it.

Silk Road going down sucked. BMR going down sucked even more (BackOpy is the man). The scams along with it.....somebody should be shot.

Find a market place ran by people with a reputation like BackOpy. All of his users recieved every single dime after he voluntarily closed down. I hope to see BMR back soon.
