Guys,
I'm about to create my own gym in my home over here in India. borderbound suggested building my own basic equipment in an earlier thread I posted. Does anyone know where I could find/purchase blueprints on how to build basic bodybuilding equipment ( squat rack/power rack, incline, decline benches, etc).

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I have made alot of my shit for my home gym. I modelled my flat and incline benches after Hammer Strength's lumbar benches. Real nice. I am 5'8" so what feels right is a flat bench that is no higher than 15 inches from ground to top of pad. If it is higher I can't put my feet flat on the floor without arching my back. Something important to consider. Same with an incline bench. Make sure the seat pad and back pad are pretty close to 90* or you'll tend to slide down and out when you're using it. Buy the pads first and start figuring out the measurements. I would go with a power cage over a squat rack cause it's more versatile. All I did for finding out dimensions is searching websites. Google.com and type in power cage. Even though you say the commercial gyms suck, use the measurements of their benches. I have to work nights tonight and tomorrow, but if you really want I can try and scan plans of my benches and power rack. I might have to get my computer whiz brother to help me cause I'm not real swift using them. I think making my own benches (and being able to change little things with them) is 100X better than the benches I would have to use at the local commercial gym. I'm lucky though cause dad has a machine shop so I provide the labour and get the metal at cost which is a "bulk buy" price. I'll make you a deal. I'll help you get through building your equipment and you send me over one of those beautiful Indian women. LOL. If you want help just PM me. No probs. But you should really search yourself. I assume you have been working out for awhile so you kind of know what your looking for. Benches and power rack are as easy as pie. Trust me I know what I'm talking about.

Thanks man..Thats the exact info I was looking for.. someone with yoru experience. Ur right about the power cage.. I do want one instead of a squat rack so I'll go steal some measurements from the gym.. Luckily I have a steel fabricator here in India that will build anything I need for next to nothing!!! :-) If I have anymore q's I'll hit u up on PM.

Thanks,
