He didn't mean anything negative lol... My girlfriend sometimes says things to people rather bluntly. She doesn't mean to, she's almost 100% fluent in English but it's tough to translate her language to ours and keep things delicate.
It's funny, where she's from you say, "I need to use the toilet." When you need to go to the restroom... Here we would be a little more vague lol.

LMAO. I was stationed in Germany for 2 years. I hooked up with one chick who didnt speak any English and when she talked during sex it ruined it. Also when she talked after. Or before.
When she first started staying over at my place she would occasionally talk in her sleep, German of course lol. Freaked me the fuck out a few times though, Christ.
She has no accent though oddly enough. My friends and family didn't quite understand that she was born in Germany for a little while because of the no accent thing. They all thought I just meant she was an army kid or something.

Lol. Usually talking is a nuisance. That accent was actually a turn off. The only one worse was a sexually aggresive Albanian woman who spoke broken English. She wanted to talk dirty and went WAY too far

I follow "the mountain" on Instagram, makes Iceland look cool.
At least you have an expert german tour guide to go tandem. I would imagine it makes everything easier and more natural.
