Numbness on the outside of my knee

Its been going on for a couple weeks. Its not effecting my training or everyday life. I've heard it could be anything from diabetes to a pinched nerve in the lower back. It doesn't hurt, just feels extremely weird.

When you have numbness in an area its nerve damage, right?

Anyone ever experience something like this?

Hard to choose where to put this thread. Maybe there should be an injury forum?

I would say injury. I've had bone surgery on both my right hand and left hip, and I've lost feeling in a bit of my hip/back and in my ring and pinky fingers.

It isn't numb like when your foot falls asleep, but if I grab my right pinky, I can feel my left hand grabbing something, but I can't feel my right pinky being grabbed.

Thats weird Seven , knee numbness . Ive never had/heard this . Neuropathy or strain ?

Never had an injury to this knee. No strain or anything recently. Had a torn meniscus in the other knee and surgery to fix it yrs ago.

I had planned to run winny at 90mg ED for 10 weeks (I wanted to push the limits and see what I could handle), I made it little over 7 weeks before the joint pain in both knees was unbearable. As soon as I stopped winny the joint pain went away, but this numbness showed up maybe a week or so later.

Exactly!! I can touch the area, see I'm touching it, but don't really feel it. It has the tingly feeling all the time.

That sort of thing is usually some form of nerve impingement/problem somewhere farther upstream but generally not so localized.

Weird.

Yeah?? Sounds about right. Anyway I could find out for sure without spending a lot of money?

If its not gonna do permit damage...I can live with it.

Been awhile dude. Good to see ya posting.

Good to be back man...

Nerve problems can be a motherfucker to find diagnostically.

Generally you could try a chiro or even a good sports massage therapist (they are largely the same thing to me). Sometimes simply getting well stretched can help but definitely no guarantees there.

Just very odd for it to be confined to such a small area.

No weakness in that leg vice the other? Tried the bilateral resisted movement tests (hand/feet resisted by an assistant while you push equally in all directions one at a time)?

No weakness. Its actually the stronger leg. Always has been. There's a couple chrio's around. I'll check one out. Just don't wanna get hit with a bunch of fucking x-ray's.

There's also this place that puts you in some kinda Pod thing. You're suspended in this gel like shit. Suppose to take the pressure off all your joints....$50 for an hour. Maybe it could help?

I appreciate the feedback.

Hard to say it if would help or not... sounds like weird fun for $50 though.

Whenever I have tried to have weird fun for $50, it always ends up costing a whole lot more because the lady steals my wallet!
I learned to always have a decoy wallet on me for times like that. Calling card in there that says "GOTCHYA BITCH"

They also have these cryofreeze pods this one lady I used to work for would always do. The gel sounds weird though..... I can't imagine an hour would do anything. Seems like you would have to continually keep doing it to feel benefits.

Maybe look up joint decompression exercises? You know how you can bend over and let your arm hang dead and swing it around like you're stirring a big pot to decompress your shoulder? They have to have things like that for your knee and hip. Could probably do the same thing.

Cryofreeze made me think of this movie. Can you name it @Leancuisine? It probably was out before you were born, but I'm sure you've seen it. I mean you better have..Lol

Tried to find the gayest pic ^^^ lmao

There's a place about 90 mins away that does Whole Body Cryotherapy. Gonna do some more research on it/them.

This other place with the pod....its epsom salt, not gel like shit as I said. So, basically you sit in pod filled with 180gal water and 900lbs of epsom salt. You "float" in the pod like a turd for 60 mins. Lol The only reason I thought it might be good is bc a female BB that lives down the street from me uses it.

Gonna look into decompression exercises as well. Thank you for the help.

Hey seven, on your numbness on your knee, if you scratch the opposite side do you get a tingling sensation on the numb spot. I ask cause i have the same thing and have concluded its a nerv issue. Ive just accepted it and actually gotten used to it so i dont even notice it anymore.

I just watched a movie called "Night of Something Strange" and wow.... was it strange.
Don't read the description. Just watch it.

Edit: I had to look up demolition man release date. I loved Wesley Snipes as a kid so I remember watching it way back when. It came out the year I was born lol.
Favorite movie back then was Quigley Down Under. Must have seen that VHS at least a thousand times if not more. Good ol Tom Selleck.

It does!! Lol Its gotta be nerve damage. I'm thinking in my hip area. When I squat narrow stance my hip hurts like a mf'er...same side as knee.

I was gonna tag ya, but I'm pretty sure you use Tapatalk and I don't think I've ever got a tag alert that way. I keep the regular mobile version (thinksteroids.com .. log in with your username and password) and Tapatalk open on my phone. Try the regular mobile version when you get a chance, it has a few more features like the media section.

I haven't seen a good/strange movie in a while.

Two Facts:

1. Wesley was awesome as the "bad guy" in Demolition Man.

2. Magnum PI is based on Mr.B66 time as a Hawaii private investigator. And had the car...it was a toy.

I saw demolition man in the theater :(

As did I.

Now if you remember seeing Rocky IV in the theater, like I can, well then you're "seasoned." My cousin and I threw water balloons at the screen LMFAO...we were the only ones there.

How did you get water balloons into a theater?
