Recovering without sleeping

When you lay in bed, and just cant sleep, do you still recover?
I slept until 2 am, and since then (5am now) im wide awake. I feel kinda tired but just cant fall asleep, its been like that the last few days; i only get 4 to 5 hours of sleep a day, but i lay in bed far more hours trying to sleep.
Do i still recover while just laying in bed being awake to a certain good degree actually?

Yes, it is less efficient though and if the issue continues over many night you will start to run into issues.

Tried Zquil?

Shit is the bomb for me and the wife when we have bout with sleeplessness.

Ambien. Just make sure you can get 8hrs
Magnesium is also a good thing to try.
Melatonin?

I get fat when I can't sleep.

Are you on tren?

Get up and do something. If I'm in bed for more than 20 minutes and I am not on my way to sleep, I will get up and do something. Either just go clean or start writing something, like a plan of what I want to do in the coming weeks.

Worst thing you can do is lay in bed while not sleeping. Very bad habit forming in my opinion.

In order for your body to properly function-recover, grow, fight infection etc - you need to sleep.

I'm in your boat... Takes me ages to fall asleep and then I only sleep around 5 hours per night, and I wake up feeling like shit. If I wake up feeling energized and refreshed then I know I slept awesome.

I've been sleeping like this for about the last 5-6 years, and it's definitely had an effect on my training, and my wife tells me I "look tired" all the time.

I've used various sleep supplements but my issue of not sleeping is more related to work/life balance than anything... Even if I get to sleep with supplements, my alarm is set for 4:45 daily, so it's rough

Same. Sleep is the most crucial thing for me. When I can't sleep, I over eat junk food.

I got divorced last year, went through a few tough months. Didnt really sleep. Any way, kept working out. Got my shit together and started sleeping again and within a month I'd put on some size...my traps grew like a mofo. I didn't realize how big sleep was.

It's a huge factor in my opinion. Everyday stress is huge too. Gotta find your happy place.:)

I've been awake since 5am yesterday and don't get off work till today at 3. I am sore as fuck! The sore pain gets worse the longer I go without sleep. Can't even get my arms back. I have zero flexibility right now.

If you have access to a hottub, I find that it helps in these situations immensely.
I have two hottubs and I'm not in them nearly as much as I should be. It was almost a year ago I was in it. New year's. But if I could be in it now I'd rather be sleeping. Sleep always makes the soreness go away.

One thing I learned real quick about gear , it ruins your sleep . Or at least ruins my sleep , even the low dose TRT Im on 24/7 messes with straight sleep . I just changed testosterones from test-c to Sustanon and Im waking up again at 3/4 in the morning , just laying there for over an hour . I hate it .

If there any good news its that I dont think you need as much sleep on gear , maybe 7 hrs instead of 8 . Especially tren I noticed , you can feel good on 6 hrs sleep on tren sometimes...Ive heard others say the same . Hang in there ;) lol

Tren has made my nights a little less enjoyable

Before, I was a heavy sleeper
Now I wake up 1x a night
Usually 1 hr before my alarm :/

I used to get 4 maybe 5 hrs of sleep a night before using any AAS. Tried everything, prescription meds didnt help and only made me feel like a zombie the rest of the day. Herbal supplements like valerilan root or melatonin didn't work, Even went to see a therapist thinking it was stress related. My doc did say that it's better to get up out of bed if after 30min I'm not able to fall asleep. Ur mind starts to associate bed with being awake. Told me not to watch tv in bed either. Bed is for 2 things sex and sleep. Also said to stop using all electronic devices after like 8pm the blue light they emit messes with ur brain/body release of melatonin and makes u think it's time to be awake. Also said to try to get on a schedule where u go to bed and get up at the same times every day/night even on weekends or days off. Since ur on a BB forum I doubt lack of exercise is the problem but that also helps with sleep.

The one thing that has greatly improved my sleep is GH. Since starting it I've been sleeping 8-9 hrs and makes a huge difference. Good luck in getting a full nights rest.

Years ago I used to take Ambien. One morning after working late I had had some guys coming to do some work and I asked my wife to wake me so I could tell them what needed doing. Then I went to bed. Woke up hours later, the work was all done. Asked my wife why she didn't wake me. She said she did, I came down and gave the workers detailed instructions, answered their questions and went back to sleep. I have no memory of doing that but the work was done as I wanted it. That's when I stopped Ambien.

That shit is no joke. There's stories of people binge eating at night and even driving places and having no recollection of it the next day.

Yeah, everytime I take it I find out that I head out to the strip clubs and bang as many filipinas as possible while snorting coke. Sometimes lasts for a week.

Fuckin' Ambien.

Yeah that sucks... You don't want to be deprived of that memory...
