How much can ya curl

Barbell curls are my weakness , I usually curl 90-110 BB. Ive gotten one strict rep with 160 before when I was heavily juiced . The guys that are strong arm-wrestlers seem to be strongest in the curl ...
Here's a vid of one if my all time favorite arm wrastlin buddies doiin a strict curl of almost 250lbs....Fuckin Dennis is a anabolic armwrestlin freak of a beast. He also has some of the biggest paws in them world. Sausages for fingers lol

55/55 db's (110 total)

5x5 sets/reps

Then I drop it down to 80 pounds numerous reps.

Then drop to 50 pounds and burn em out.

Good straight back, not swinging them up, nice and slow/controlled.

This is natty.

I can't do straight flat barbell curls. My wrist won't turn that much and it fucking kills me when I do light weight like 95 lbs so I just don't really do them. DB's hammer Max is 110 for about 2 or 3 with a little swing to them. Clean no swing probably 75 for 5-7. Isolated hanging curls I like to do 5x50x5sets on heavy days. Normal palm up curling bicep day is 35lbs X 12 reps for 6 sets. Than hammers at 45lbs X 12 X 6 sets. All with 25 second rest in between.

Strict barbell curl 85lbs, db curl 50 for 3 strict. I won't go any higher as I may end up ripping a bicep.

@HIGHRISK I hear ya on the straight curls and my wrists are killed after that.

Kinda like this lol.

I partial ripped my bicep doing 60lb dumbell curls on the preacher. I moved the weight to my left hand and started curling then around the 5th rep I felt a rip :(.

Slammed a shit load of hgh to heal and I'm back to 65lbs on the preacher ;)
Exactly

@penche, that sure is a good warning not to do crazy weight on the preacher curls, especially with dumbbells. I do preachers with an ezbar.

You still live dangerously though, haha.

I'm a bitch and afraid to curl heavy. I feel like I'm gonna tear my bicep.
God don't say that shit.

I've been afraid of that ever since a guy at work who's got good genetics, solid dude, tore his bicep and was only warming up.

Now, I've been doing isolated preacher curls and when I stretch the bicep by letting the weight fall down I'm waiting to hear that awful tearing noise. Like a pair of denim jeans.

Ouch, good recovery though.
I've curled 135x 20 in the past year. I've never tried a max though.

It's addicting, them dumbell preacher curls. A lot of isolation and pin pointed pressure on that bicep. Just gotta be real careful not to jerk or Ive learned you will rip it. Thank God mine was a partial and not full blown tendon pop. Had to get back on the horse and push the limits. Took me awhile but real slow and I've accomplished the 65lbs single handed. 70lb would be nice but 65's still bury me on the 4th rep. I like me them pyramid sets. 12,10,8,4,10. Talk bout a pump! Add some Drol/Var shhiiiiiiiit!!!!! People freak lol!

Feck! Don't say that lol! I've realized on the preacher to keep tension at all times and if your going really heavy. I wouldn't full extend 100%, more like 90%. That full extension then coming back up with real heavy weight is a real bitch and dangerous IMO. Good luck my brotha

Oh I never use heavy weight with it. I'm scared to. I use 20 or 25lbs dums after I've done plenty and I'll rep that out for 12-16 but very slowly. Then I'll drop to 15lbs and rep that out for 20 and then let it rest to stretch the muscle while it's full of blood.

That's always been my philosophy. I've heard smaller muscles respond better to volume and "pump" rep ranges.

I use that to justify my fear of going heavy. But I won't go lower than 8 reps on curls. But usually in the 10+range.

I do side with more lighter weight but I mix in some heavy days. On my heavy days for arms I'll use a regular Olympic bar at the flat bench (so I'm not curling in the squat rack, lol) and use good form for 6 reps and then just cheat the next 5 just to get it up so I can go slow with the negitive. Just overload that muscle! Ha

Note: I only do this once every 3 weeks or a month if I forget.
