Making the switch to powerlifting, Gobuckeyes 2017 log

No problem. I had a similar issues a few years ago. I started doing those mobility drills and box squats and I've been good ever since.
I started doing those mobility drills this morning plus foam rolling. Good thing is I have full mobility in my knee. It just hurts, strange thing I found out is my left ankles mobility sucks, but it's my right knee that hurts. I've broke both ankle multiple times also. I started trying to fix my squat this morning also. I have a habit of leaning on the balls of my feet or almost on my toes sometimes. I know that's not good, so I'm working on mid foot.

Definitely should work in some box squats. That should fix the issue with squatting on the balls of your feet. Sometimes the lack of mobility on one side will cause our other side to over compensate leading to some issues that you are having. Good thing is that you can correct it. A few weeks of doing all those mobility drills and maybe incorporating some box squats should fix you up.

Deadlifted today but shouldn't have went as heavy as I did. I didn't think it would bother my knee as much as squats and it didn't, but it still hurt. So Ima have to lighten up on all leg exercises until I get this under control

Well I had a pain free squat day! I did 4x8 315 box squats. I wanted to go heavier bc my knee didn't hurt but I'm not pressing it. I told myself Im taking it easy for a week or 2 and I'm going to stick with it. I really worked on my form, made sure I was sitting back.

Good work. Better to let it heal up then to get injured and be out for months. You'll be pain free soon enough.

Well I took it easy all week and did more of a body builder routine until today. I wanted to deadlift heavy. I did it conventional and my PR is 455. Well I did a set of 3 with that weight. I tried for 4 but failed. I'm still pumped tho. I also did some sumo style but I'm stronger the other way. I think doing sumo style the last 1-2 months has really helped my conventional tho.

Did some box squats today. Worked up to 335. No pain while I squatted but it feels a little funny now. Still working on my form. This shit is so annoying. I had fucking goals I wanted to hit this year and I'm not going to now bc of this. Squat used to be one of my favorite days, not now. I know it will get better but I have no patience
I hear you with the annoyance factor. My squat is garbage, too. I'm starting from square one with a PT guy, working on form and hip mobility before I'm back under any real weight. It takes time man, unfortunately. Sometimes too much time lol

No doubt. Sucks ass bc it's my only lift holding me back. I'm making progress on everything but squat.
They box squat might carry over for you in a great way. @Perrin Aybara gets great carry over from box squats. You can still hit your goals. Just let this get better and you should be right back in the saddle. This will reinforce the proper motor pattern.

That's what I have to get used to. I wasn't squatting correctly, now when I do it awkward bc I'm not used to it yet. I'll get there tho.

I started intermittent fasting yesterday between the hours of 4pm-6am. That means I only eat between 6am and 4pm and fast the other hours. I'm going to do this until I go on vacation in 5 weeks. I wanna tighten up more and I have a problem eating. So far so good, I'm not over eating when I do eat, I'm 600 cals under maintenance everyday so far. Only thing I have to get used to is not eating before I workout. I always have, I've tired out that last 2 workouts before the end. If anybody has done this IF before, how did it go?

Knee still isn't 100 but it feels better. Deadlifted and light squats today. I pulled 455 again for a set of 3 and decided to try 495. Got it to my knees bf I stopped. Just couldn't get it past there. Tried twice. I think it's more mental, I know I'm strong enough, I just gotta believe in myself. I think not eating before working out all week has something to do with it also.

Carb up. Try getting some fasting acting carbs in before your workouts.
