Hernia?

I have,an issue. Once you have a hernia, will it get better on its own? without surgury?
I had what I thought was a hernia, but now its gone, or really really reduced in size.
three or four weeks ago,
After doing some kinda light/med back squats I felt a twinge in my groin area at the bottom of the squat, some light burning sensation. Afterwards in my groin area was a goose egg just north east I guess of my dick. It didnt really bother me, Just occasionally or if I lifted or if I felt tired. and it was disconcerting while having sex, I really felt it then.
you could visibly see it. it was that big.

Now its gone. It kinda took me by surprise. I switched from back squats to front squats. I still did deads. And after my last dead session yesterday, I went to check it and it was pretty much gone. theres a little something there, but its like nowhere near like it was, 1/10th the size. Hurts still,a little, but I might just need some vagisil.

thoughts on this guys? @Michael Scally MD

and yeah I know, go see a doctor. Im just checkin to see if thats really necessary.

and without coming off sounding like a dick, can we limit this discussion to people who know what they're talking about? hernia experience, something similar, even remotely. if your dog had the same thing, thats fine. If you read something once on livestrong or some pubmed thing,or you want to go on about "common sense" plz go

I had the same thing but mine wasnt as big,i went away and i havnt had a problem with it in 4 years and i still work out but dont squat but do leg presses. I had a umbilical hernia fixed but left the other one alone since it wasnt bothering me.

How did your umbilical repair hold up? I've got the same and need to get it done asap. How long before you could lift heavy again?

Its been a year and its been fine...i took some time off..i didnt want to risk having a problem with it....a couple of months before i started lifting again. Its hard to do anything without involving your abs...i couldnt bend over for a few days after the surgery

Not looking forward to time away from the gym but no way around it. Thanks for your feedback, appreciate it.

Welp its supposed to be squat day for me. And, you know its hard for me to tell exactly whats goin on down there as it was kinda funky to begin with if you know what I mean. theres all kinds of arteries n lumps n bullshit. seems like the original issue has shrunk up to the size of a good size marble, and not one of the big ones either. a "molly"? and its hard. If Im even feeling the right thing.
Im wondering if I had an aneurysm or psuedoaneurysm

I went to the doc thinking it was lymph nodes and it turned out i had a hernia on both sides and after blood work i had prostrate cancer :(

oops. thats some shit there. Im assuming it worked out.
I had considered my lymph nodes for a second. Also, I reluctantly own a cat. I guess cat scratch fever can blow up your lymph nodes. I dont have any other blown lymph nodes.

I had an outstanding session yesterday. First time back at back squats took it real light. DYEL light. I used weight my 13yo could handle, though he's atypical for a 13yo (subtle brag) PR'd on front squats, BUT the weight I used was pathetic, again DYEL. Ive always hated front squats but like the snatch, its something I want to master before I die for no other reason than to teach my boy.

Good hard fuck session last night, everythings workin like it outta.

I can feel the area in question, like theres pressure on my nut kinda. could be mental. No swelling I can tell. Still feels like theres a marble there.

Im sure i got my hernia from weight lifting...beinng 65 at time didnt help.Had radiation seed implant and radiation treatments so far no more cancer....

I quit doing squats...i do leg presses and do them slowly positive and negatives....Dorian Yates didnt do squats and had huge legs...he did leg presses and hack squats

I took a month off ,started doing very light reps with minimal strain in that area.Unfortunately as with any weight lifter that pushes some weight, mine slightly popped again after 4 years. It's not bad at all but I will have to get it done again if it gets worse.

Had mine done a year ago.. just getting back to weights after a 10 year hiatus at age of 48 (long story) any who taking it easy breaking back in. Was asking around the gym to the strong younger fellers if they know anything about other then the usual core work, rehab etc. One guy said to have doc put double layer of mesh in. I said to late had it done already, he said its never too late ( too go back for the double layer I guess)... Anyone ever heard of this? Inguinal hernia btw.

Ive never heard of this, but Im curious as well

I got mine done with stitches. Diet and heavy workout had it pop out. Fucking disgusting. Needed help wiping my arse after the stitches. Fucking humiliating.

It holds water though. I squat, I deadlift, no constraints at all. But recovery is long. 12 months easily before you can put heavy load on it. It tugs as well in a very uncomfortable way when putting stress on it during recovery.

Yeah wish I heard of it earlier too.. Use to wear a double ply denim shirt bench pressing... duh... makes sense I guess. Im sure the insurance company wouldnt want to foot the bill so I guess its moot until having to go back and have it done again. Then I will request a double layer kevlar mesh.. :)
