Take a week off and you lose 1 month in gains.
Hmmm, so when I took that week off before my meet and set PRs across the board, that was my imagination lol?

I was thinking the same thing doc! I didn't pull for 14 days before my meet and ripped a pr like it was 135Hmmm, so when I took that week off before my meet and set PRs across the board, that was my imagination lol?

Did you attempt those PRs the week before your week off? My bet is that if you would have deloaded instead of taking that week off you would have been able to add another 2.5 to each side.
How often are you guys attempting 1rm anyways? Should be every week. I’m not talking squat suits and wraps every week. Doesn’t even have to be a competition lift. Just has to be something to tell your body that you need these muscles and they shouldn’t be used as energy when it is in a nutrient fasting state.

I would rather build strength then constantly test it.
Yea I was just thinking that most powerlifters don’t need to worry about a nutrient fasted state. Lol
Testing strength is also building strength in my opinion, else WS Protocol lifters wouldn’t ever get stronger.
If your method works for you, that’s great! Carry on my brothers.
So far this year I have about 6 times for each lift. I won't try again until around Halloween. This is also my first year powerlifting and didn't exactly start off lifting heavy weight lolI attempt 1RMs about twice a year.
x2

I don't know a ton about their methods, but it's not truly a 1RM comp lift every week, is it? I thought it was more max effort every week and they rotate variations of the main lifts often to keep from burning out. Like max effort bench with chains for a week or a few weeks and then max effort board press for the next 1-3 weeks and so on.
Overhead press day, 3x5 205 and I Also did dips with 3 45lbs plates hanging from me. First time ever, was feeling pretty good this morning and wanted to try. Can't wait till deadlifts tomorrow, my favorite day!!!
Mine isn't strict. More of a push press lolMore than I've ever done. 205x1 is my best strict press.
