Meso Book Club

I think i might have read one of those when i was locked up. Are they spy novels?

Spy? Ehhh I wouldn't call them that. But they are all about espionage, war, and I guess some spy stuff. I've read many of them and all are great books. Read them in order though cause the later books will reference back to previous ones.

I like to read all the classics-Dostoyevsky, Steinbeck, Dickenson, etc. Some of my favourite authors recently have been Murakami, Vassanji, and Ready Player One I think I've read about 4 times .

Hey man what's up. Not sure how I would feel about that. I guess it depends on where and when in the story line he starts it. Did you see the movie.

Yeah, the movie was a major disappointment. Wouldn't even recognize the story if it wasn't for the names.

They're speculating the new book might be about The Battle of Jericho Hill. I wasn't that impressed with Wind Through the Keyhole. I'd rather have more backstory on Roland's younger days with Cuthbert and Alain than something mostly unrelated like that.

I figured that would be the case about the movie. I'll end up watching it at some point but I'm not expecting much. I don't think you can touch the end of the series without really fucking the whole thing up. So that leaves Roland as a young adult. Roland at some point before the series begins or a side story that was in the novels. I wouldn't mind reading something like that.

Stephen King says he might write another Dark Tower book.

I would read. I liked wind through the keyhole, if for nothing else I got to see the characters again. Besides, after that movie I need something cleansing. It's like eating something gross and having it on your breath.

I really like the harry bosch books, and anything else by micheal connolly. The jack reacher books by lee child are really good as well, the casting of tom cruise as jack reacher was a horrible choice though, was not impressed with the first movie.

I read the director stepped down from having anything further to do with the series.

Yeah, Jack Reacher was supposed to be like 6'6" from what I remember.

I loved the Talisman and Black House by King and Straub
When I was a kid I tried reading the talisman a couple of times but could never get through it. Then like my mid to late teens I tried again and I loved it. One of my favorite.

Just finished Musashi by Eiji Yoshikawa a second time. It's historical fiction, but still an excellent book if you're into Japanese history and lore.

Anyone ever read, "let's grow" by Frank zane?

I don't read books unless its for work/school

I just read stuff online... But if I ever did read a book, this is the one I would buy.

I just finished "How to Win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie. First published in 1936. I listened to it as an audio book. Great Listen, except it took about 8 hours or so total lol.
