I do not have access to an autoclave; therefore, sterilizing the glass media bottles for each brew would be tricky.
A thought that I had would be to filter the gear through a bottle top filter (0.22) into a glass media bottle that has been cleansed as best as possible, then drawing up the oil into a syringe and transferring into pre-sterilized vials by way of a syringe filter (0.22) and caulk gun.
Being able to maintain a closed system gives me peace of mind producing a sterile end product. Would bottle top filtration>>> syringe filter >>> pre-sterilized vial increase the flow rate of the oil? I've been reading about syringe filters being a hassle, and would love feedback as to whether or not this method would increase the flow rate of the oil (since it would have already been filtered) while maintaining a closed system using a syringe filter for the final transfer.
Thanks
