Glad you're feeling better man.
About 3 weeks ago I spent an entire week in the hospital due to encephalitis, there was a layer of water pressing against the frontal lobe of my brain. MRI, CT Scan, Spinal tap, and the mother of all IV's attached. Completely out of it for the first 4 days.
Viral infection (probably from the flu) causing imflammation in the brain was the likely reason. They did the thing where they stick a swab like 10 inches up my nose to get a sample (fuck.that.).
Anyhow, you will feel better soon, the first couple weeks you will feel a little off, the first 2 days out you are pretty much going to be useless so avoid driving or anything intense. Take the time to relax and unwind, I spent 7 days in hospital and was able to return to training 2 days after being discharged.
Glad your brain wasn't effected man. I am willing to take some risks in life but damage to my brain isn't one of them, it changes your personality. I have to get a follow-up MRI, they noted lots of irregularities according to the medical report they sent my physician. I asked my MD if the abnormalities are normal for someone who has encephalitis but without a baseline MRI they can't say.
I also was and am on a very aggressive diet so that probably didn't help the healing process if the root cause was indeed the flu. (I did cheat on the diet when I got discharged though, a pepperoni and mushroom pizza and box of Turtle's was self prescribed since I had little to no calories for the first 3-4 days of being admitted

).
I got the headaches too. Fucking agony man...
