From the shoot interviews I watched him do he seemed like a real good guy. Not like ric flair and the rest of the scum bag wrestlers from the 1980’s. He had a tone of respect for the vets and found success at a very young age. Main event Ed the second wrestle mania I think. Crazy how wwe never brought him up very often with all the flashbacks they used to have of legends never heard too much about King Kong Bundy.

Hardly anyone got to shine because of that POS Hogan. I loved when he body splashed Hogan like 4 times and supposedly crushed his sternum. Good times.

Couldn’t have happened to a better guy imo. Hogan was like triple h and John Cena x 50 when it came to holding people down during his time on top. I always feel sick when thinking about hogan because of the shit he’s pulled in and out of the wrestling business. Testifying against McMahon, in a trail that could have put Vince behind bars and wwe out of business, supplying wrestlers with hard drugs, cocain etc just so he could controll them(per ultimate warriors accusations) when the shit about him being a racist surfaced I wasn’t the least bit surprised.
I’m so glad he’s been erased from the WWE for good. IMHO he never ever deserved to be in the spot he was in but Vince could market him better than anyone else and money seems to be he only thing that matters. I remember when his son got into that accident and his friend who recieved permanent brain damage(isn’t functional to this day) nick was in jail and hogan and nick where talking shit about him(the paralyzed kid) over the phone the tape leaked and if that wasn’t enough to kill his carreer which it should have the racist shit did now wwe tna no one messes with the POS because his issues as a person are fucking glaring.
And what’s sad is guys like King Kong, Curt Henning who weren’t the biggest money makers but were way better wrestlers and people fade into obscurity and are rarely ever mentioned by wwf.

Had Vince Sr had the brains and vision, “Hogan” could have happened years earlier with a more deserving guy - Superstar Billy Graham. WWF/WWE pissed away so much good talent for worthless bums like Hogan. There is NO reason Rick a rude shouldn’t have held the heavyweight belt.

He's been back in the WWE for a couple months now. He's not wrestling anymore but Vince brought him back during those Saudi events cause the rich shieks wanted Hogan and Vince caved in front of money

Hogan WAS the business in the 80's. Only an idiot would bury that money machine to push a guy like Bundy beyond feeding him to Hogan.
And Cena holding people down? Not even close. Again, money talks and dude moves the merchandise.
Last I saw he was putting a lot of dudes over in the mid-card too.
Point is, you build your stars and make your money. It's a business first and foremost. Nobody is owed a 'spot'or anything else.

Hogan was definitely the cash cow of the 80’s but they could have had him share the spotlight. And that happened when the Ultimate Warrior came in and took him out? Hogan took hisntous and his bruised ego and left like a little spoilt brat. Hogan didn’t have to be THE only star, but Vince allowed it and gave the dick creative control along with everything else. Then he just went to WCW and ran them into the ground because the dock didn’t know when it was time to go. Cena on the other hand - he has made way for the next generation and allowed himself to lose in order to bring up the new talent. I applaud him for that. Hell, Hogan didn’t even want to lose to HBK at Summerslam in 05, LONG after his prime.

Hogan left the WWF because he wanted to pursue acting projects beyond the scope of WWF films.
Specifically Thunder in Paradise.
At the time McMahon wasn't allowing talent to pursue said projects. Piper ended up bowing out for, largely, the same reason.
Turner offered Hogan a truckload of money and backing for those projects. And yes, creative control.
Was he booked, primarily, the same way in WCW as he was in the WWF?
Yeah.
Because that was the formula. Build a monster and feed it to Hogan.
Why?
Hogan must pose.
But don't make the mistake of thinking that Hogan ran that company into the ground.
Before WCW was WCW, the Crockets had put the company in a hole with their failed westward expansion.
Dusty's booking had also become extremely repetitive. Often times just rehashing the same old angles that he'd run in FCW.
Later on contracts where being written left and right with crazy downsides. Booking remained stale, interesting story threads often dropped without explanation, just to return to NWO VXX.
Etc, etc, etc.
A lot of shit was done wrong, but Hogan wasn't, singularly, at the center of WCW's demise.
As far as Warrior? He was just as big a bum as Hogan in the ring.

WCW didn’t know when to kill the NWO. Instead of it ending when a Sting won the belt, they decided to have gay ass Wolf Pack. Vince Russo will pretty much kill any organization he writes for and I still place a lot of blame on Hogan for not stepping aside. And he sucks as an actor as much as he sucked as a wrestler. But you’re spot on about all the other things. I heard the wrestlers pretty much called the shots and that also lead to their downfall.

Where are the feels in Bundy winning the belt? Unless you're setting him up as an even bigger monster for Hogan to take down, there are none.
Sure, you could feed him to a Savage or a Steamboat. But eventually you're going to end up feeding them to THE GUY to avoid making him look weak in the long run.
Which is potentially going to hurt the brand, and in turn the bottom line. Especially when the business was still being protected.
And hell, how many guys did Hogan make? Slaughter wouldn't be the icon he is today if he hadn't run the Iraqi sympathizer angle with Hogan.

Lol, they used to air the “Golden age of wrestling” on cable a few year ago. One match stands out to me - I have no idea who they were but it was a tag match. The villain got punched in the mouth by the face and that was that - they lost true match. I remember when Jake the Snake appeared on WWE. His DDT was so powerful they wanted to ban it. Now anyone kicks out of a DDT.
It’s like everything else - the action has to get harder to continue stimulating us.
