Hell of a time with syringe filters

So I'm waiting to brew 50 ml of Test Cyp.

Ordered some syringe filters but then found out they are non-sterile. So then ordered 10 more different this time sterile ones but they sent me 0.45 um rather than the 0.2 um that I ordered.

So I know I shouldn't use the non-sterile ones but can I use the 0.45 um or will they not be good to use?

Thanks

No, you shouldn't use either; .45um wouldn't create sterile gear because of the filter density and for obvious reason neither would the non sterile filters. There are people who I've seen say they use non sterile filters, but anyone with any degree of logic would realize that doesnt make sense. Non sterile would filter out debris, but wouldn't create a sterile finished product.

Fwiw .45 used to be the standard before the .2 ones came around. I'm not saying to use them but there's been many people who used those back in the day without issue. That said with the availability of the .2 it wouldn't make sense to use anything that leaves you open to bacteria etc.

Then I've seen the .45 used as a prefilter before the .2 ones to thin out the product.

For example right now depending on my source the .2 clogs up like mad real fast and I'm using 2 of them and struggling with just using 2. I could use a .45 and when I use the . 2 it would be smoother.

So if you don't return them they aren't trash you could use the .45 before the .2.
