WORKOUT/TRAINNING PARTNER?

Nope no partner for me. Not necessarily by choice, I know no one that lifts to have as a training partner.

I most of the time prefer no training partner. The reason(s) is that I don't thing and get out, keeping focus. I don't have someone not on the same page with the same goals. In saying that, if I had a training partner with same goals and training style/commitment I would probably be cool with one.

I just left a box store gym joined an old school gym that is pretty much into powerlifting (my style of training). There is a good chance of meeting some like minded lifters that may be into being a training partner.

Exactly what I was thinking. If the person is in the same level as me then I wouldn't mind at all. But lately I've been noticing partners in gym and all the do is fk around and play. Vets me really pist off. Especially last night I saw 2 guys working out one was very serious and the other was hust nothing but games. They guy had to keep telling his friend to get serious with this I guess the wgole thing was to share a ride because the guy end up asking me if I live near by lol so I guess it was that ge was tired of his partner. Anyways I agree.

Also another point if I had a training partner I would prefer they be at a higher level than me. This way they will always be pushing me and driving me to get to their level. Of course an elite powerlifter repping my maxes would be a lot of changing of weight, would be a downfall.

I agree 100%! Perfect said!

The gym is my me-time. I try to keep my head down, earbuds in, and knock out my workout. When I was younger with no responsibilities I used to lift with friends. Now, I actually pride myself on how few people I talk to at the gym. Basically I talk to the front desk people and staff. And this one blonde, just because!

I probably get a better workout solo. I go hard AF and fast and heavy. I'm generally a sweaty heavy breathing mess.

However, I do often workout with my GF. The workouts take longer and I generally can go a little heavier with the extra rest between sets. It also offers a chance to sometimes explain an exercise or a particular pattern of training. It keeps me very focused on why Im doing what we are doing and it's fun to design workouts and training routines.

Either way when it's my set the rest of the world is quiet I am focussed and it's time to move the fucking weight.

The vast majority of my training has been solo. It's hard to find anyone as dedicated and consistent as myself. Went through many temporary partners over the years and most didn't last weeks or a few months.

Got a buddy I lift with most weekends now. He's in his 60's and has been lifting consistently since his teens, so he's been good to lift. He's just kinda set in his ways and also retired, so our schedules don't always line up. Mostly we just deadlift on Saturday and do our own things otherwise.

My girlfriend just started going last month. We don't actually work out together, she has a friend that goes with, well skips half the time, but I insist my girlfriend go regardless and I coach.

Not for me personally and I would find it distracting. I'm more motivated on my own and I'm not looking to talk to someone else even if it is about training.

Yea see me i get bored quick. I guess it has to do with the fact that I have not been training for long time. Basicly all i ever used to do is calisthenics and light weights due to boxing for a long time. I guess I havent reached that point of self motivation/deep in it?

Thats why I was asking. If I did i want to have someone that can help motivate. I mean I do what I have to do at gym. Im there 1 hour Monday-Friday due to my schedule and swimming after every workout. But ill get better actually getting better by the months.

They play fucking country at my gym on Sundays. If I forget my headphones it makes me rage.

My gym plays the worst fucking shit in the daytime hours. I think the old lady at the front is picking this shit. Its horrible.

On a positive note they sometimes play "goodbye horses" by Q Lazarus. (Its the song the dude tucks his dick to in silence of the lambs) I've never heard that song played on the radio or inside of any establishment ever. Truly bizarre.

LMFAO ! Lol " Funny I was watching this before lol

Usually no, but theres only two people I'll workout with at all. One is my fiancee, she trains hard as hell and knows my sticking points. The other is a kid at my gym who is an aspiring bodybuilder with real potential. He knows how to push hard and spot properly so it's not too easy. Most people don't get that part

Do you have workout plans/goals/schemes made ahead of time? Make one and stick to it, should keep you plenty motivated to hit your reps/goals. If you are just winging it and doing whatever without a plan then yeah it's easy to get distracted and meander if you will.
