Blasphemy!

i never really thought about it, but second (like 60 seconds in a minute) and second (2nd the one after 1st) is the same word. hurts my head
In the English language however, and I may be incorrect, @OnTheRize may know. Second comes from the base word "sequi" which means "follow" and then sequi -> secundus meaning "following, second."
So if you go from this base I guess it makes sense. Second has tons of different meanings.

But that doesn't explain why we use the term second in regards to time. Internationally it is the same base word... I can't find information regarding this. Annoying..

This is one of the most egregious horrors I have witness. Let me start by saying, when we purchase ground beef at the store. It is considered to be lesser quality when there is a higher percentage of fat in the meat.

Then we get to these Kobe Beefs which are an excellent marketing strategy. Let's pack fat into the meat so it will become exclusive?!

This doesn't make sense from a nutritional standpoint if you would compare ground beef @ 20% fat and Kobe Beef which can be about 20% fat. How does one sell for $10 and another for $110?

It is blasphemous that people actually order Kobe Beef!!

You would, wouldn't you? And I would butter you up all nice. Make you feel special, have the place dimlit when the plates are brought out and then a spotlight shining on your plate for the reveal. Even has a certificate with the "nose print..."

SO EXCLUSIVE!!

I just can't figure out how we put a man on the moon fifty years ago and yet my GPS lady in my phone can't pronounce half the street names she says.
Shes an underachiever for sure! Must be nepotism. I'd rather have my filipina mother in law pronounce the streets. I can at least half understand her!

The other day I came across a "Floraville Road" and I thought it was gonna fry her circuits the way she stumbled over it. It doesn't seem like that tough of a word either. I don't know. I guess they say the English language is hard and some of these street names aren't actually words? I think it's about time they have a voice actor sit down and pronounce every street name in the US and record it.
