If someone can't see the forest for the trees, they are so involved in the details of something that they do not understand or pay attention to the most important parts of it.

In the above example, you are looking at all the CrossFit bros, poor form, and movements you don’t like or understand and are missing the most important part. The CrossFit women.

My sister and brother in law are very big in the cross fit community in my neck of the woods. I totally get where you’re coming from. To me I feel I will get injured running around doing the shit they’re doing. Plus I’m all about the pump. But what’s appealing is the fellowship and the friendships that are made. Every time they hit the mat with a group of people they damn near die and it brings them together. Lol

My sister lost everything to a flood a few years back. I came to help get all the shit out and rip the sheet rock out. There was an army of cross fit members there running circles around me. I was very envious of the friends of like minded people my sister had made by simply joining a gym. When I say friends I mean true friends.

Say what you will about the sport but the people who make it to the cross fit games are truly “the fittest on earth” and are the closest thing we have to gladiators today. My sister is a triathlete and it’s all because of CF.


Why is it a thing? God wanted us to have CrossFit women.

I think Crossfit can do a lot of good for a lot of people depending on your training needs. It can be very tough and challenging again depending on what you are looking for and how much you want to push it and stack the workouts. My issues with it are the PR's and races for time with highly technical lifts. No one should be doing deadlifts, snatches, power cleans etc. as a PR for time. This is why the injury rate is high. Also there shouldn't be a prescribed weight already noted for exercises as everyone is different. A newbie see's X prescribed weight and thinks that's what they have to use. Next thing you know they are trying technical lifts with heavy weight and horrible form = disaster. Keep the PR's, prescribed weight, and timed crap out of it and you'd have a good program.

The injury rate is also high because a lot of the "coaches" don't know how to properly perform things like the Olympic lifts themselves. They teach shitty form and technique and end up getting people hurt.

Good on them for community building and having great relationships.
I cant say I'll ever judge someone's morality or character by their sport....
But crossfit is still dumb as fuck, even if there are great people.

I'm either hitting a weight PR, or chasing a skin splitting pump...

ALL that being said....
If I wasnt married, I'd join a crossfit gym to get some of this sweet action...
Who needs shoulder joints anyways?
Especially when you're surrounded by these little things.
