FIRST BREW RESULT

Well fuck, [emoji2369] I don’t know where his missing 5 ml went then.

Ok iron Vett brought it back :p sort of lol

it looks like @little is using a media bottle to brew in instead of a beaker. I believe a beaker will have more accurate markings than a media bottle. @little showed that the markings were off in the pic he posted where he first measured out 50ml in a syringe then put that in the media bottle and it showed that was slightly over the 50ml marking on the bottle. Therefore since his top off of carrier oil didn’t reach that measured mark, he stopped at 50ml on the media bottle, the total actual volume will be less than the 50ml he was striving for.

Aren’t media bottles plastic? o_O

I read this again. Your beaker isn't correct. Use a 60ml syringe and fill it up to 50ml with water. Put that in your beaker. What does it fill based on the beaker reading?

exactly. If his math and measurements were correct it's a glassware problem

Yeah it is a glass beaker (low form) not a bottle. And if the marking where right it would of been bang on. Ive ordered some from a lab company here. Which next time i will test the their accurate before using,i assumed a company making lab beakers would measure the markings lol then again you know what they say about assuming.

Also heating the raws with just the oil is a good idea but how much oil would you know to use? As i fill the oil untill the line.
Dont actually know the final amount of oil init. Unless suppose you could mix the raws with say a little bit of oil, then cool, add the BA and BB then top up with oil to the line.
But i imagine as the other guy said it would take more to heat of chemicals like them as i only had it on the lowest number 1 setting on the hob (electric)

Cheers for all the adivce n help though guys

If you use your same glassware, you’ll have to put in a measured amount of liquid before you brew and mark it with a piece of tape or something And then add carrier oil for your final fill to that mark.
