Doctor/Patient Confidentiality

Was wondering what the general consensus is on this. I have been having some issues with dizziness. Also some weird breathing issues. For example I start to exhale and I’m craving/needing another inhale if that makes sense. My appetite is non existent. Also have an occasional heart flutter/ missed beat. I don’t use loads of gear and have been cruising on just test for the most part. Haven’t pinned in two weeks. I have had horrible sleep apnea in the past but it seems to have declined. I no longer gasp for air at night while asleep but still snore horribly. My question is this: Can I be honest with my doctor? I’m not going to lose any insurance because I don’t have any. I’m thinking be as honest as the day is long.
Any thought on my symptoms and the honesty part are greatly appreciated.

@Dr JIM
@hurricane
@rutman
Thanks again.

It sounds like you have a lot of symptoms that could add up to any number of different things, due to this, I think it’s fair to assume diagnosis will not be simple nor immediate.

Because of this, I think you should be honest. Could spend a long time chasing your tail otherwise, and it’s best to find out what’s going on with your health as soon as possible.

The doctor will not report your use to police, if that is what your worry is. If you don’t have health insurance anyway, I don’t see any reason to withhold information.

You may need to a try a couple different docs to find a decent one, but hang in there. Good luck.

I was more concerned about the doc assuming steroids were the main factor if I was honest. Some docs even today act like steroids are the devil. I’m not worried about LE. I can just picture myself in the office and admitting to my gear use and seeing a doc with no experience in anything hormone related pointing his finger at me while blaming my health on my gear use. To be honest I felt better on stupid doses than what I’m running now which is next to nothing. I thank you for your advice.

I would like to publicly thank @amtont for his help via private message. It made a ton of sense and I’m thinking he has hit the nail on the head. For him to help out was above and beyond due to our “past” here. It was very much appreciated and I owe him one. Thanks amtont.

Sounds like maybe you figured it out? Which, if so, is awesome.

It sounds veryyyy similar to some symptoms I experienced a couple months ago. Felt like my heart missed a beat, or jump started the next one, and when that happened, my breathing was affected.

I work in the surgical field, so I had an anesthesia provider hook me up to a heart monitor and check out my rhythm. Nothing was out of the ordinary. Which I thought for sure was wrong.

Basically, I lived with it for a couple (rough) days, and it subsided, which I was suuuuper thankful for because I thought something serious had started. So depending on how new these symptoms are... try waiting it out and see. Mine were gone in a week.

Anticlimactic, I know. But if the same thing happens to you, then I'd say that's best case scenario. Hope you get it resolved.

Oh, and to answer your original question, be honest with your doctor. Doctors do not care about the perceived morality of something their patients are doing. They're not going to spend the time or energy to morally judge each patient that dose something they don't agree with (smoking, drinking, overeating etc... doctors still treat all these people regardless of their "poor" choices)

Really they just need to know all the info to best treat you. Thats all they want to do. Now, they may have to give you the obligatory "testosterone is bad" blah blah blah speech, but the fact alone that you do it will not affect their willingness to treat you, nor its efficacy. Telling them everything can only help.

And tell your doctor that you are self-pay, and would appreciate the most cost effective avenues to determine treatment. They get it, they have other self-pay patients. They'll work with you. And you can always politely refuse what they suggest, and ask what another option would be. They work for you, especially if you are self-pay, and you're the boss on what you do and don't want to do when it comes to their recommendations.

I believe I may have paradoxical breathing. I’ve asked amtont to post what he messaged me. While it has been awhile since my last concussion his description of the ailment just seems to mirror what I am experiencing. I’m going to do some research on it. Thanks for your input @rthor4573

All Good! Anytime! I actually think we all pretty much want the same things in to lift, help others and not be scammed by bs sources/ behind the scenes drama.

You, @BigBaldBeardGuy , @cochino , @Villain , @Silentlemon1011 , @DrinkFlintWater , @Gbro , @MisterSuperGod and basically anyone else with the bare minimum of functioning brain cells were right about the “Real Sym Shady” not coming back so you had every right to be pissed at me and think I was dumbass for trying to defend that shit.

I was just naïve and I guess I’d never seen a “holy source” before so my jaw was all on all the floor like a dude slinging tren in jesus bottles just walked through the door.

Can’t say he was working at Burger King spitting on my onion rings but he was definitely working at Mickey D’s putting floaters in my NPP. Or in the the parking lot circling screaming “the floaters are sterile what the fuck is yall talking bout”

Definitely learned my lesson I just thought if you made multiple orders with a source and they promised to reship you and then asked for your BTC Addy for a refund they would have the decency to follow through.

That obviously didn’t happen so wing away gbro fat chicks pantyhose sing the chorus and it goes!!!

I reached out to @Oldschool since My cousin was diagnosed with paradoxical breathing about 2 years ago. He had sleep apnea for a number of years and then it was exacerbated by a car accident where he had a bad head injury and suffered structural damage.

Three of the main causes of paradoxical breathing are having long term sleep apnea, hormonal imbalance (such as high testosterone levels) and trauma to the brain (concussions) or chest.

Essentially over time with sleep apnea the chest will begin to turn inwards instead of outwards resulting in the diaphragm contracting during inhalation and expands when you exhale. Concussions and hormonal imbalances can disrupt neurological signaling making the condition worse.

The symptoms he mentioned such as needing another inhale while you are exhaling, dizziness and heart flutter or rapid heart beat are all symptoms of paradoxical breathing.

For my cousin it was a very long and frustrating process to get diagnosed and get effective treatment, requiring numerous doctors visits and tests. So it was very expensive.

I thought he might want to look into this in order to avoid getting the run around and having 8 different appointments and a bunch of bs tests. Just as sources are not all "holy" neither are many doctors. In conversation with me he mentioned that he had chest trauma from a horse so this fits the description even more.

He said it was alright to post this in case it might benefit anyone and if others had more info to add.

This is good information
Many of us have had multiple severe traumas and all of us have hormonal imbalances lol

Most definitely. There is actually a wealth of knowledge and info on this site not just with regards to cycles, training, nutrition but many people have similar experiences with regards to injuries, health issues or from their jobs that is highly valuable.

I believe it was you who described the sanitization procedures etc. from your job and it definitely opened my eyes so I will always attempt to do the same.

I just know that at one of my cousins appointments the Dr was looking shit up on wikipedia because he had no idea so its not like it could be any worse.
