What cardio machine for best calorie burning?

So the next big item I need to purchase to round off my home gym is a cardio machine, but I'm not sure what will give me the best calorie burning results? It's going to be a magnetic rower, treadmill with incline or an air bike like Rogue. What would you guys pick for optimal performance? Thanks :)

None of the above. I prefer something on which you have bodyweight. In order of priority: Stepmill (needs high ceiling), stepper, elliptical. Everything else is a very distant fourth.

How can a stepper burn more calories than a rower?

Bodyweight.

Look, you asked, I answered. It's ok if you don't like my answer. I prefer bodyweight on feet. Stepper is number two for me. Stepmill is by far number one, but most ceilings in residences will not allow for it.

The step mill - you set it and forget it. If you don't keep up, you fall off the bottom.

All the other machines, like rowers, you have to keep focused on keeping up your tempo.

10 days out, I don't feel like doing any cardio. I am probably not going to keep up the same intensity for 45 minutes. On a step mill, I program in the workout, set it for 45 minutes, and damn it, I either do what that machine dictates or I will fall off the bottom.

If you want to get a rower and feel like it will give you the best results, then by all means do it! I'm not into 45 minutes of rowing while prepping for a contest, starving, lacking sleep because I am waking up hungry, and getting on a machine at 4 or 5 a.m., the step mill is my choice.

By no means do I wish to sound rude bro, but my question was what machine will offer the best calorie burning not what do you prefer for your lifestyle lol.

It's definitely the stepmill. I've done all the cardio machines under the sun lol from experience I can tell you that the stepmill (stair master) burns the most Calories with the most ease and the fastest. Good luck bro!

I want to say whatever machine you will actually use. Not to be an ass but I have my favorites and the ones I hate. If I bought the one that does actually burn more calories and hate it I am more likely to not use it. So with this logic the one I will use while not rated to burn more calories will burn the most for me

Stepmills are great. I HIGHLY recommend the Jacob's Ladder machine with the rungs that you climb if you can fit it in your home gym. My gym has one and it's fucking brutal. They're fantastic conditioning tools because they use the same muscles that mountain climbing uses.

They're pretty pricey, though.

That's a good answer, too!

I assume you already use a rower and like it?

I have tried the rower, treadmill, various bikes, elliptical, stepper, and step mill.

I can't get treadmill and bikes to cut fat - don't know why. Riding a bicycle outside works for me, but a stationary bike does not. I also find the treadmill and bike intolerable for longer periods of time.

Plenty of bodybuilders successfully use the treadmill, so if it works for you, go for it. I am not sure why it does not work for me.

Rower - I find hard to put in real time on it (like 45 minutes of time).

BUT, if you use the rower, like it, and it cuts fat for you, then I would tell you to get it and get to work on it. Btcowboy's answer above really is a good one.

I do not use a rower, but I'm leaning towards a used treadmill with incline. And I don't understand how you can burn cals on one machine and lose fat, but can't on another machine? Weird cause i though it's cals in/cals out?

Preference for me
1. Outside hikes with incline but not a machine
2. Stationary Bike
3. Treadmill

This is just my preferences and they work for me

I have a variety to keep me from getting board. I have an elliptical, treadmill, Rogue Echo Bike and Torque Tank M4 which is my favorite right now.

But if you can only have one that’s a tough one. Treadmill for me is easiest to just turn on and watch something on YT or Netflix etc.

But I do really like doing interval training on the Rogue Echo Bike. It is pure torture. The Tank is torture too and more fun. They just came out with a smaller cheaper version too. But you need use it outside and have room for it. But you can attach rope to it and do pulls as well which is awesome.

The key to make the stairmaster as efficient as possible is do NOT hold onto the handles or hunch over the machine. Complete waste of time then.

30 minutes on the treadmill doesn’t even compare to 30 min on the stairs for me. Not even close even at the same heart rate. I wonder the same thing.

But you also have more variety with rower or bike. You can do HIIT and burn more calories than all of the above. Or hell, you could buy a stepmill and just get one of those little stands for a regular bike and have both (assuming you already have a bike you could use for that).
