Best Chest Exercises

This was me. For ages i did traditional bench pressing and alls it did was build my front delts and triceps. I tried inclines and declines too but same result. Tried pre exhuasting the aforementiined muscle groups but that just led to benching less weight.

Then i discivered what i personally think is the best chest exercise bar none (thats right dips im looking at you). Its the guillotine press AKA neck press.

As soon as i started doing these my chest began exploding, incredible pumps, and it builds the entire chest including the hard to hit upper chest along the collar bond. This exercise changed everything for me for chest development.

Highly recommend you suggest this to your friends. Put the ego asude as you wont be able to lift as much as a regular bench press but who cares the results are incredible.

My chest routine is supersetted with my tricep routine and generally looks like this:

Guillotine press + dips
Pushups + close grip bench press
Pec dec flyes + tricep pushdowns

Thats it, dont need some complex shit just add more sets if youve got the gas.
The smith machine works well with a neck press, i find since the is no lateral movement, especially on an incline.

smith machine is where it really shines, coming down to the neck areas. If thats what you mean by guiltteine press.0

Not regularly but I have just to switch things up. I like any exercise where you can brace yourself against a bench. It allows you to generate significant force and apply it directly to target muscle groups. As an aside, you can never do too much incline upper chest work.
Do you play around where you bring the weight down? Like instead of nipples going lower or higher? Like the neck press?

Yes often I play around with positioning and hand placement on exercises such as this. Slight variation can keep things interesting as well as prevent overuse of certain pathways.

The best is what fits you. There is no such thing as a “mass” movement. If it builds muscle, it’s mass.

best movements in my experience:
-slight incline (15deg) smith press
-barbell incline press
-seated cable flye
-weighted dips

Where do you come down to on the slight incline smith press?

Ok, @jJjburton, I'm not going to say deadlifts this time :)

And I agree with @Mac11wildcat - I can't really say what is the best mass movement. I can only answer with what I feel was best for me.

For chest, I like dumbbell incline presses and weighted dips. I would be careful about adding too much weight to the dips. I treated the exercise just like any other in that I kept adding more and more weight as I progressed. Long story short is that it cost me a type 4 pec tear.

Wherever you feel chest the best. Need to stop looking at what others do and find what works for you.
Yes you are right, just getting ideas.
Maybe there something that I have not thought to try yet.

thats a really good point though.

Ugh, sounds rough. Have you recovered well?

Currently im doing guillotines on a smith machine. In the past when i was back home in canada i was doing them in a squat rack. Its better on a smith as it stresses the shoulders less acting as stabilizers. Some guys find guillotines bad on tyeir shoulders but never been an issue for me but this is likely an anatomy thing.

I press down to just above my collar bone. I like to get my elbows pretty much 90 degrees away from the sides if my body, you can play with yoir grip width to find tye sweet spot for your unique abatony, thats where i get an incredible stretch in the pecs at the lowest point of the rep, hold for a brief moment then when you start pushing the bar back up really mentally focus on recruiting the muscles where you feel that stretch in your chest.
