Taking a personal trainer job at PF

Just going to jump right to the point, I really like working out but I like dieting more.

So it's a slippery slope. Planet Fitness, it's 10 bucks a month- I never been in the place. It's not a real gym, obviously.

Most of the patrons, God bless em'... well, don't make me spell it out. But I want to do something for my community! The pandemic has kind of sandbagged me.

I'm financially established but still stuck in the house, I need some mental health, I want to make a contribution.

How would I even START with a client at PF? I'm going to let you all in on a little secret- its 75% diet (maybe more) than what you do in the gym.

I would just feel like a fraud. How can I ethically show a 320lb man how to do a lat pull down? These members aren't signing up for someone to tell them how to eat. That's why they're at a 10 dollar gym.

The master secret: Low intensity cardio, clean diet. I will send you guys my trainer ID.

Looking for advice on training, because chances are if you're reading this, if you were to train ME you'd say alright I'm gonna hop on your back, now- run up that fucking hill. But these "clients" have a hard time getting out of their car. That's the thing to keep in mind.

God bless

Always super jealous of the Hodge Twins because they eat junk, drink sugar, and still look good. Fuckers.

My wife work as PT in expensive gyms, clients mostly women 35-50 who want to lose "weight". She's also a dietician. However 9 out of 10 clients don't want to change their eating habits. Their social life revolve around eating (lunches with colleagues, dinner with family), and having a good time mean eating and drinking. Drinking alcohol for some, drinking tea and eating cake for others.

In the end, it's a job and she need to earn money. She can get the women stronger and fitter through training, but no "weight" will ever come off for most of them. Having said that, there's always a few who listen and change their diet and see results.

Famous comment: "Please, I'll be 15 minutes late, I'm having cake with my friends"

Whoever moved my thread for mentioning the "T" word...

how bout we do some DIAMONDS, Big mod- Big on chest? Big on Biden?

I'll give you 115 for "T". Up your ass.

Damn now I wanna strip down & film me doing 115 diamonds for "T". All the challenges start this way. Someone is oppressed & does something cool.

and I'm natty right now! Shit hasn't kicked in yet but i still identify as a republican HORSE. neigghh!!!

You cannot want it more than they want it. You are there as an accountability system and to familiarize them with the equipment, END OF STORY! Don't even waste your time talking abt specifics like diet foods, you are wasting your breath

Thank you bro, great advice.

What is the "T word"?

Couldn't say, forum is heavily moderated sir.

Eman rate your confidence on 115 straight diamond push ups? Could you do it, I've been wondering myself. I usually just do 5 sets of 20 and only HIIT. Who could say when we put the kettlebells away, what I'm capable of?

Have to plan it on a week i don't pin one of my triceps! I got in the smith earlier, was gonna do some behind the neck presses, damn that PIP action got me real good!!! Had to say, this aint my day.
