Sterilizing vials

Can if put my vials straight in the oven to sterilize? Im worried about streaking up the inside's if i wash them so i was wondering if dry heat would work

I tried in my pressure cooker, but they didnt dry fast enough and i dont feel like it is sterile letting them air dry or picking them up to put them in foil and putting in the oven. PC seems so inconvenient. This is my first brew so I want as little chance to fuck up as i can

Dry heat autoclave,no problem.
Never used oven.

I soak them for 1 hour in 70% IPA with silicone stoppers. After that I rinse them with distilled water and wrap them in aluminium foil. Then put them in oven heated to 390 ° F (200 ° C) for 2 hours. After that i let them cool down and fill them with oil. In the meantime I bake stoppers at 300 ° F (150 ° C).
I haven't had any problem using this process.

So just 2 hours straight at 390 degrees? I see so many different people saying different things. Like 500 degrees 2 hours and so many more. And how long do you bake the stoppers at 300 degrees? And that doesn't compromise the rubber?

Vials for 2 hours at 390 ° and stoppers also for 2 hours at 300 °. This temperature does not affect its structure, but I use silicone stopppers, not butyl. Cheap silicone can withstand about 350 ° F for and extended period of time.

You don’t brush them or wash them first? I’ve found small particles on them even right out of the sealed plastic.

I wash them with water first then soak them in isopropyl alcohol then put them in ultrasonic cleaner and I use distilled water in ultrasonic cleaner then put them in my lab oven at 90 degree Celsius for 1 hour.

No, after 1 hour in IPA I put them in distilled water and shake with them few times.

Here is the method I was thinking, hopefully someone can chime in? Was going to wash my vials in the dishwasher to start, then take out of the dishwasher and soak them in isopropyl alcohol.

once they’ve soaked, put tinfoil overtop of the vial openings and put them in the oven at 400 degrees for 40 minutes.

rubber stoppers was going to be the same process, minus the dishwasher

Wash in IPA, Rinse in distilled water, Oven.

Same with the stoppers.

400 degrees might be a little hot for stoppers. I'm going to be playing around with temps as well

How do you place them in the dishwasher and keep them in that position?

I am going to try this.
