But its like you say - You have never once had to use it and most likely never will have to. Then because everyone is armed you have a huge amount of firearms in peoples houses, on the streets etc. It then becomes very easy for all the idiots to then get hold of one simply because the ratio of guns to people is so incredibly high. These weapons inevitably fall into the wrong hands along the way and get used in all kinds of incidences which would never normally have happened if they were extremely hard to get hold of like they are over here.

But yeah man. I pack a 1911 kimber 45ACP because it's what I'm used to. I don't miss with this old clunky thing, and it's so comfortable that I can practically operate it in my sleep. So that's my carry pistol.

I know there's better options. But not for me.

You make some good points though. Better tools for the job and all. But me and this thing know eachother. I don't want anything else.

Yeah I do love me a 45 acp. My dad has one and my groupings at 15 yards were nuts. I shot 2 mags and it looked like I shot 4 or 5 rounds lol. Then toss me a Beretta M9 and i hate those irons so much, my precision goes down quite a bit.

Still I'd say pepper gel would be a good backup option. Or hell, if you're on an angry mob situation, just pack a bigass canister of bear mace with you lol (check your local laws, some states/jurisdictions make certain capaciry canisters of mace illegal especially to use against humans). Regardless, I would suggest you have vs one sort of backup plan! I wish you the best my man.

Having a gun to protect yourself in your own home is one thing but needing to carry a gun everywhere you go is detrimental to society and normal human relationships.

I disagree as well. How is it detrimental to society for me to have a hidden gun? It can deter criminals from committing crimes because their target might be strapped. I go on hikes out in the wilderness with just me, my girl, and our dog. I want to be protected. I do go to the grocery store sometimes and you never know when some nut job is going to rob the place or start shooting or stabbing (people always forget about stabbings in the US.innocent people because s/he has mental health issues. I'm not gonna stand by and get murdered. I just feel much better with my gun on me. I know that I have the capacity to help if needed.

I have never, not once, had the fact that I am carrying a pistol inside my waistband affect my conversation or relationship with anyone around me. Can you explain how it is detrimental to normal human relationships??

I am personally not for constitutional carry. I do think there's benefit to the day of training no, it isn't ENOUGH, but it's something. I mean Hunters Safety is only a few hours but we make people do that. Why not concealed carry too.

When I open carry I use a safariland Als paddle holster. The thumb release is in a comfortable place and even though it's a paddle it still can't be removed from the belt easily.

Just bought a holster from a company called UM tactical, definitely a badass holster and it’s a hybrid between iwb and owb and has adjustable cantor as well

Also a Taurus snub .38, shoots great, it's light, accurate and feels good in my hand. But I'll be making homemade wooden grips this summer, just experimenting to work on my woodworking chops.

I also have a Heritage 9 shot .22 revolver. For the price, I think they make good, affordable and plain fun guns to shoot. I have/had a few and never had an issue with misfires or jamming and they're accurate to boot.

My heritage barkeep couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn, hahaha. I shot it once and immediately sold it. Now the .22 Heritage revolver I got my son, with the 4.75” barrel is pretty decent for a single action revolver. I think being mass produced sometimes the sights just get slapped on there and it’s hit and miss on accuracy with some of them.

I finished the wooden grips on my sons heritage with super glue and sandpaper, they came out amazing!! You just laquer the wood with super glue and sand between coats, going up in grit. I did abt 4-5 coats and it really turned out nice!! Just YouTube “superglue wood gun grip finish “

Yeah mine is the 4.75 plus I've got a 6. I like the looks of the barkeep but I've heard way too many negatives about the accuracy as you said and of course mass production issues.

Maybe a bit like Hi-Point...their hand guns leave a lot to be desired in my experience yet those semi auto rifles are a blast to fire and leaves room to customize everything from sights (on certain models) to optics and light. I've played with the 9 & 10mm as well as the 40 &45 and they seemed to be great, especially for the price.

Eventually I want to get the Heritage 16" if for nothing else just a conversation piece and a novelty and decoration.
