Blood Pressure Monitoring

Have started monitoring blood pressure 3 times a day. With that being said I’m having skewed numbers when taken from my upper arm.
The sleeve does not fit properly I’m assuming as half feels snug then the other half is not because of the curvature of my arm.
When I take a reading on my forearm the readings are much more accurate with a difference of 3-4 points.
Where do you guys like to take your blood pressure?
And yes , I know I need to get a bigger cuff but does using it on my forearm compared to upper arm make a huge difference??

Doctor just confirmed that the forearm is just as good as bicep, so you’re good there. They even have those wrist cuffs, but those appear to be the most inaccurate of all.
Awesome thank you for the information. I was getting worried about consistent high BP readings on my upper arm but noticed large variances which then I used Carditone for a few days. Started checking on my forearm instead after noticing minimal inaccuracies and it was consistently low lol.
Stopped Carditone yesterday and it has been 120/60 , 123/62 and 117/59 today on forearm measurements.

Yeah, I’ve been visiting my doctor a lot lately (more than I care to) and they confirmed just the other day that forearm is just as good as bicep. Didn’t want you thinking I was blowing smoke your way. If you don’t have a large cuff, you’ll get big variances in readings. Also, make sure your cuff is completely deflated also before using it, as that can throw off readings as well - another thing my doc told me.

Hope everything is going okay with your doc visits brother and thank you for the knowledge! Appreciate the feed back!

I have this issue as well. When I get it manually done at the doctor I’m always around 120/70. Wirh any electric machine I come back at 150/90. Even at the hospital machine. When I take it 2-3 times it goes down to the 120s-140s.

No idea what to believe as I’m worried if my bp is that high but it doesn’t feel like I’m having issues.

That’s the scariest part and why they call it the silent killer.
Yes that’s exactly what is in the back of my mind.

I am not sure how to go about it currently without accurate readings. I figured at a doctor visit it would be brought up if it was that high. Yet it never is.

If you have a home monitor, you can take it to your doctors office so they can check its accuracy. If it’s within range, then you at least know it can be trusted.

For some , Doctor visit BPs can be skewed tremendously though. I know no matter what I get anxious right when I step in there and I’m sure it raises heart rate/BP. Especially when I know I’m getting blood drawn lol can’t do those type of needles hahaha “white coat syndrome “

Well that’s the thing. Mine always comes back as perfect at the doctor.

I work in the OR and check using the anesthesia machine and it comes back same as at home when done by hand at the doctors it’s perfectly fine.

Many things change blood pressure readings throughout the day. If the variation doesn't seem right, let me ask this question. Did you buy some cheap foreign shit on Amazon or did you splurge on an Omron?

Have you tried different cuff placement at home?
Yup actually did while reading this thread still comes back high.

This I’m not sure about. I forget where this came from. I know it’s not the cheapest but it’s for sure nothing special.

I’ll look into that and do some searching for a better one. I haven’t been the best with keeping up with my BP simply because it’s so inconsistent and hasn’t been a priority. Not proud to say it.

I have a wrist cuff one that I use to think was pretty good - But then every time I have it read at the doctors or hospital its 10 to 15 points higher!! LMAO Still gives a very good indication though as to whether you are out of whack or not. Bang 50mg Dbol, 1ml Tren ace and some NPP and watch that bitch rise 30 points within 2 hours!!

Get a smartwatch that takes blood pressure. I have a $40 one off of Amazon and it works great compared to my omicron cuff. That way your phone will get all your blood pressure readings for the whole day and then pick an average. It's normal for your blood pressure to be high during some parts of the day and low some parts of the day. So you really need to know your average blood pressure.

That’s insane that a smartwatch could be as accurate or more than a cuff. My mind can’t even fathom this.

I’ve been looking into smartwatches for heart rate monitoring and caloric tracking of workouts but did not know they had watch devices for BP.
