First Fat Loss Cycle Advice

Hey, I'm 43 and after getting back to lifting the last couple of years I've had little luck removing extra fat gained during the pandemic. I'm at 25% BF (down from 32% during pandemic) and just started a TRT program with Test Cyp. 200mg /wk but the fat loss has stalled. Eating at a calorie def (2550 calories). Looking to stack a cycle of Clen and Anavar (most suggested cycle for my goals) but I've seen/heard so many cycle recommendations. Looking for some consistent advice or at least where to begin my search.

What’s your cardio look like?

Also, I personally wouldn’t blast anything u til you’ve got your TRT dialed and settled in.

Cardio is good - not great but better than average. Alternating 8 wk traditional split routine with HIIT routine. Test dosage (200 mg/wk) has my levels at 545…waiting to follow up with my dr but don’t see the dose going higher by the dr.

“What’s your cardio looks like”

35 minutes on incline treadmill 3 times a week

That’s an example of a potential answer to my question.

Then you aren't at a calorie deficit.

You don't need to add anything at all to drop another 10% bodyfat but more intentional nutrition and expenditure with more cardio and movement.

I'd suggest you settle in to your trt and focus on the basics, save the extra for when you really need them.

just FYI. weight loss isn't linear.

sometimes you might notice a few lbs dropped overnight out of nowhere. as long as you are following your plan properly should be G2g

You’ll get random stalls in weight loss especially over the extended periods of time. Two options….add more cardio or decrease calories again (assuming you’re consistent and properly calculating this on a daily basis.) Gear won’t help with that. Not saying you gotta be a 10% body fat, but at 25% I wouldn’t recommend it. You’ll aromatize more, stress health markers more, and just not gonna get the results you’re expecting. Get that TRT down pat and keep dropping weight before running a cycle would be my recommendation. If you drop even another 7-10% BF that will change even your TRT protocol as far as estrogen and all goes.

track your calories to a tee doubt your in defecit.

on the other hand look at building up some muscle make use of the TRT and train hard it does help body composition later down the track.

200 mgs a week puts you at 545 total test ? Either very poor responder or something is wrong. Either way you gtta get to upper levels or you’re only treading water and not gonna accomplish anything. This could be a reason you’re not seeing any progress.

Unfortunately I seem to be at the discretion of what the doctor seems to be an appropriate level. Still researching this to see what levels should be at. Getting very frustrated which has led me here. Thanks for the feedback - it’s very much appreciated.

Agree. When I go to 125mg per week I’m @ 1000 total. Something doesn’t seem right there.

When are you pulling the labs in relation to your injection?

500total 3 days after injection, yea, not the best response.
500 total a week after injecting, great response.

Fwiw I too have a shit response with testosterone. 310mg/wk with blood taken at peak levels had be hovering around 1100. Previous doctor wouldn’t let me go over 200mg a week because “no man needs more than that”, even though my levels barely made it into the low normal on 200.

I generally have a poor response to all drugs, usually needing more to get the same desired effects. I abused drugs and alcohol from an early age before and during puberty), I think that could maybe be why. Unfortunately I’ll never know.

You are probably insulin insensitive and pre-diabetic. You have fatty liver. Don't worry, most people are in the same boat.

It will take you probably two years to actually lose the fat you want (enough fat to make you feel good about yourself) and it will take you an additional two years to then to keep it off, and stabilize at a new baseline. The "yo-yo" effect is real, and it only gets worse as you get older and your metabolism becomes more disregulated. You have to supplement with high dose multivitamins and keep protein high. There is more you need to do, but it gets complicated.

There are no shortcuts here. You are going to have to be disciplined. You should use Semaglutide or Tirzepatide, and walk a lot of miles every day. Slowly and steadily, you will lose weight.

Your Testosterone sounds like it is fake or defective. 200mg and 545? Something is wrong. Either way, your doctor is incompetent and he won't help you. It's time to start buying your own testosterone and doing this yourself. My guess is you probably also need to control estrogen, so you should take an aromatase inhibitor because you may end up a bloated mess unable to lose fat.
