Filter Homebrew and store or before use?

Do you filter before use? Or filter when you're prepping a vial and then can use it freely for roughly a week or two without re-filtering?

If you have one of those filters that attach to a syringe and a pre sealed vial you can take it from the container it is in, unfiltered, and draw it up into a transfer syringe. Take the needle off and attach the filter syringe. then inject it directly into the vial for use.

You can store semi finished oils in containers (unfiltered) but I would personally filter them with one of those bottle cap filter things and store in a sterile container if I was going to have it sitting for a while. Then I’d filter it again before use using the syringe filter.

I have thought about pre filtering gear, letting it sit in 100m container and then registering when I need to use it

Unsure of how long it is good for or when any of this stuff "becomes rancid"

I agree. That was my plan originally, having the extra already filtered and stored in a sterile container in a dark place away from sunlight.

But thinking about it now I’ll probably just brew what I need and then keep the rest in powder form.

I’d prefer to have 10ml-20ml sitting around for a while instead of 100ml in big jug sitting around for a while

I brew once every 12 month or so for the past 20+ years. 20ml vials or 30 if I pin more than 1ml each time. Never had a problem. I used to use sesame oil and/or cso with no problems whatsoever. Now I use predominantly castor oil which is more resistant to going rancid.
