Are BCAAs worth it

I would say no, overall for the same benefits protein supplements are better.

But I sometimes use bcaa's to suppress my appetite, for me it is good at it and helps me to drink more water during hot summer days.

Besides some of them taste really good and is definitely much better than Coke zero or other sodas. BCAA also provides some protein like ~8g per serving and it's better than nothing.

Ditto this.

Do they do anything substantial? Maybe. Maybe not. But they make the water in my jug taste good. I also add in my creatine + electrolytes to it, so I know I'm getting everything in throughout the day.

I made the mistake of buying unflavored bcaa. It smells exactly like feet and tastes sort of like them too.

I ask this question because I read an article about hgh and insulin years ago, unfortunately I can't find it now. That explained BCAAs, creatine, are shuttled into the muscle more efficiently if you use hgh and insulin.

I just figured I'd try it and bought some. But I haven't noticed anything, so I was wondering if anyone else noticed if BCAAs are worth it

Lol, it's definitely a hit or miss with unflavoured stuff like this.

Well, I believe there is some truth here, but all in all a whey protein has a complete amino acid profile so = bcaa and more.

The only thing you somewhat win with bcaa is that you save some calories, but this tradeoff is for more complete protein.

What about EAA's. I know it sounds good but is it just splitting hairs. That said I use an EAA during my workout.

I agree with others that BCAA is garbage, however, science has proven that EAA is worth consuming throughout the day.

A new study that Greg Doucette talked about recently found that EAA consumption caused more muscle protein synthesis than without when protein consumption was exactly the same.

You shouldn’t quote Greg douchette as a viable source of information. I'm not even going to click that

He is discussing a study. Do you want sesame street to show you the study instead? Maybe I can draw pictures for you in crayon? Or you can google it if you are smart enough. Your ignorance is showing.View attachment 274802
haven't read this study but previous studies showed that aminoacids gave a substantial insulin spike and that created a more anabolic enviroment than protein... but you know what I am not eating my protein alone and carbs do a pretty good job of raising insulin...

i remember back in the day it was said to eat some chocolate ice cream after consuming your protein to spike insulin and shuttle protein/aminos into the muscle.
