Lantus insulin protocol? Advice?

I'm on my first bulk cycle after starting my TRT.

I'm running 400 test, 400 primo, 4 iu's of HGH. Feeling great and growing slowly but consistently.

I have some lantus insulin, and was wondering if I should introduce it to cause anabolism through a different pathway.

The issue I'm reading on Lantus is that being slow acting and being in the system for so long, you develop insulin sensitivity super fast. So I see many people use it just 3-4 times a week.

Anyone have experience using it? Is this too little gear to even bother with Lantus?
How can I run it properly?


I'm having no side effects from what I'm running (except for low HDL), so I could increase the gear.

I also have some igf1 Lr3.

What are your sugars running? A1C?
 
Didn't get a1c. I just measure blood sugar myself. In the morning it's around 95, 30 min after a 150g of carbs meal it's like 110.
Always been on the low (except the morning)
What makes you think you need insulin? I personally wouldn’t go the route of self administered insulin. I’d hire a coach. You can mess yourself up doing it yourself. Although if you wanted to do it yourself there are tons of articles on it. I’d err on the side of caution. Try it and monitor your blood sugar a bunch. Look into getting a CGM ( you can find them without prescription) just to be on the safe side.

As far as IGF LR3 I’ve used it a few times and it did cause me to go hypo after a workout. So be cautious of that also.

So I feel like there’s a lot to cover on this subject and I’ve used it a little and a lot in the past. If your gonna use it there are a few thing you should keep in mind.

1. Your glucose meter. As mentioned before by another member getting a CGM is a GREAT idea. Takes the guest work out of checking it often. You’ll be able to see by the app on your phone how your BG is without Lantus and then compare it to your small starting dose of Lantus.

2. Never chase insulin with food. Chase your food with insulin. In other words, don’t ask “How much insulin should I take?” You’ll know how much to take based on your BG level. That means you need to figure out how much your BG falls with 2iu of Rapid insulin or in your case Lantus. See #1.

I just wrote a big paragraph about this but since your using Lantus I guess it doesn’t apply so I erased it all. Lol just be carful please. We’ve lost enough people to shit like this. I know I’ve had some close calls.

Do not get measuring your insulin and GH mixed up!
 
Lantus has application. I will use it with my more advanced guys once we’ve exhausted other options, locked in our nutrition and we’re in a place to make the most of it. Having said that, I always introduce a rapid acting insulin before touching a basal. It’s more versatile and better overall for bodybuilding purposes.

Lantus is pretty hard to mess up. You’d have to take a very large amount and eat zero carbs the whole day; an unlikely scenario in a growth phase. I don’t see insulin sensitivity issues with guys on Lantus like I do with HGH but I also wouldn’t use Lantus 3-4x a week like you stated.

Given you’re early into this journey it sounds, I don’t think you’re at a point where Lantus makes sense and I definitely wouldn't use it just because you have some on hand.

yeah dude the thing ive always wondered about lantus i the fat intake. Does it have to be really strict like with a rapid inslulin or can I eat fats on lantus?
It's a lot easier to eat on rapid insulin then on lantus.

Rapid insulin: one or two meal max without fat.

Lantus: any meal during the day with possibly 0 fat or just trace of it.

I used Lantus everyday and then Rapid during MOST meals. I was at my leanest and biggest I’d ever been. I’m assuming it was from the GH that kept me from being fat cause I definitely didn’t shy away from fats. Wasn’t a dirty bulk.

what dose was you running lantus at ? I’m running 60IU on training days at the moment and I’m like you, the biggest and leanest I’ve ever been somewhow, aswell as rapid with 2X meals and PWO with inta workout carbs

Are you taking GH?
 
Your morning blood glucose levels aren't ideal, but they’re not too bad either. Since you’re only using 4 IU of HGH, insulin sensitivity issues shouldn’t be a problem.

Focus on improving your diet, incorporating daily cardio, and adding berberine to help lower your fasting blood glucose levels.

For now, I'd skip the lantus as it doesn't seem necessary in my opinion.

Almost the exact same as me haha, yeah I’m taking 15 at the moment, all before bed
