Accutane permanent cure?

Just wanted to say a big thanks to @Ghoul especially and all the rest of you who have chronicled your experiences on Accutane.

I've been on accutane for just over a month now and already titrated to 200mg a day (which is approx 2mg/kg for me), pretty much the only side I have had to deal with is dry lips which is sorted by copious use of the balms and looking forward to accomplishing a cumulative dose of 220mg/kg before September ends.

Cheers guys

Unfortunately not for everyone. I have done two full courses in my life, the first on the NHS and the second 10 years later on private. Both times I got put up to max dose after bloodwork and both times in the summer! It’s so much worse in the summer..

The first in my early 20s because I was that kid with terrible acne and when I got older I made the doc give it to me. I would still get spots here and there but not full blow acne.
Then the second time was during covid, I tried to do 500test c per week (previously I had done 300test/300eq with no sides) . But when the gyms shut down I tried to put it back to cruise and went 500 test c for like 3 weeks then went down to 200 and I think the fluctuation is what set me off again. Anyway I was back to chest and back acne like my teens! Did another 3 month course to get rid of it and been off since. But I still get a spot here and there with the odd flair up on my chest.

I would be too scared to do it without a doctor as it has crazy bad sides most likely worse than any gear you’re taking.

Anyway I’ll finish up with my experience with it and some remedy’s that saved me. for me the only sides I got both times was the dryness. I was told that summer is the worst because of how dry your skin can get Expecially at higher doses. I have a crack in my nostril from the first time round as when I slept my nostrils would get so dry, when I woke in the morning and flexed my nostril it split in the corner and never repaired! The dryness is no joke!
So for this reason when I went to sleep I would use Vaseline to lube my nostrils for the night. For the skin Elizabeth Arden 8hour cream is a lifesafer. cetaphil for body wash and aquaphor lip balm.
these items are the best I could find to combat the dry and the second time round was much more comfortable.

Also the best thing I’ve always used for single spots whenever one appears on my face is acnecide. You can buy it over the counter now. Just apply it to the spot before bed and leave it don’t wash it off.

Anyways good luck especially to anyone that is going to do it without a doctors supervision.

Glad I found this thread. I’ve been dealing with cystic acne on my body for 10+ years.

Recently went to the derm and told him I wanted to go low and slow with it. Was thinking like 20mg everyday. His idea of low was 40 everyday. Has anyone had issues with that dose? My idea is I’d rather run it longer and not realize I’m on it, than run it shorter and hate life. 6’3 250 because that matters.

From reading online a lot of European and Asian countries use 10-20mg max.

None of my results were lasting. Already back to oily skin. Five months of strict adherence. What a pain. I feel like the 40mg were not full strength. Side effects dropping off seemed to align when I finally got to the 40mg's (Healing Pharma).

No that is standard I think. Start around 0.5 per kg then with blood tests and no sides they will go up incrementally to 1 per kg. Both time I was on it I had to go for 3 blood test and each time they increased the dose. As far as I can remember I started at 40 per day and finished at 80.

I’m from uk.

had great results with Healing Pharma accutane, but i wasn't blown out with acne, i just have to run a small program of accutane when i exceed 200 mg of testosterone, it really is a night and day difference when your on the accutane , myskin looks great , glowing even,

I used 10mg pw early this year for 2 weeks and called it quits. The lethargy and overall fatigue was not worth it for me. I don't have issues with acne per se (on avg, would probably get a small pimple once a month) but rather blemishes from faded pimples, and I thought accutane might clear it up. Have been using a retinoid cream recently albeit not consistently however, it seems to be somewhat erasing the blemishes off my skin. Still, looks like I'll have to go down the laser path to actually get it all cleared up.

This has to be one of the worst responses to Accutane I've seen on this board

Still getting acne after THREE courses??

10mg per week?

I worked up to 120 mg/d pretty quick bc I wanted to get it over with

Minimal sides for me; not hating life just applying chap stick a few times a day

Appreciate it bro.

I’ve seen horror stories online so I guess I’m looking for side effects at this point. I’m sure 40 is low for my bodyweight too so might not be worth going any lower.

That's a shame, I think your posts at the end of this thread were quite motivational to me.

I'm also using Healing Pharma Accufine 40mg tabs. Religiously take them with 20g+ of fat but honestly not struggling with sides at all even at 200mg a day. I almost wondered how people struggled with it so much. I do have to keep lips cared for regularly though but that's it.

I like to read all your experiences and stories your accutane cycles. Personally i don't get any sides from accutane other than dry lips/skin. Gonna probably run it forever(as long as i blast) 2 times a week at like 10/20mg, it makes you look different in a good way, like the skin is glowing, especially face. Other than that i'm gonna see my dermatoligist next month and ask for accutane again, as i started getting crazy acne on shoulder/chest mostly.

Weird thing is when i was 18/19 my back was full of acne, but never had any on chest/shoulders as a natty. Run 30mg for 6months and the back acne never came back, now 6 years later it's chest/shoulders.

FWIW - I haven't tried Accutane yet, but I'm pretty sure E2 is the primary cause for me. Been titrating Primo up on a "cruise" up to almost 1:1 vs test (with a little added NPP) and my acne is far better than it is on vanillla TRT with HCG, almost non-existant apart from the odd 1-2 on my chest. Typically my lats are covered in spots.

I am on HCG though and my E2 was always high or above range since starting TRT so I'm betting on next bloods showing E2 within range. Maybe you can nuke aromatised E2 if you are on HCG and making it intertesticularly?

Sounds less intense than previously though. From what I understand, even "failed" cases tend to have significantly lessened severity.
100%. And I guess the second time round I did it to myself and it was mainly cheast and abit on the back. I’ve had very few on my face since my first round and that I am most thankful for.

@hungryalways I feel like for me the e2 does not matter it's the fluctuations. When i run test solo and my e2 is high i don't get acne. If i take an AI tho i will get a breakout the next day.

It's hormone fluctuations (up or down) that pour gas on the acne fire for AAS users.

It's because rising hormones cause sebum production to speed up rapidly, before the cellular turnover inside pores that acts as a "conveyor belt" to move it out and onto the skin catches up, leading to clogs that become overrun with the bacteria that normally consume sebum on the skin surface, and acne forms.

And when hormone levels go down, the cellular turnover slows down almost instantly, but sebum production continues at a higher rate for longer before eventually slowing, causing acne inducing clogs again.

Accutane shrinks sebum glands (to some degree permanently), so less oil is produced, and "reprograms" the "conveyor belt" cells inside pores to stay in high speed mode all the time, keeping pores clear. In most cases, these changes are permanent after reaching a ~200mg/kg cumulative dose, preventing breakouts from happening in the future.

I can count the number of pimples I've had in the year since finishing on one hand, and disappointed as I was to see any, they literally disappeared completely within 1-2 days without intervention.

I’ve tried accutane - for me it works but not permenant. However GLOW peptide combo with low dose hgh has made my gear acne virtually nonexistent.
