Swol limiting my range of motion?

Legit newbie here and doing my first test only cycle 300 mg/week and noticing that my muscles get so swollen after my first set that on subsequent sets, my range of motion is limited and/or I can’t finish my reps.

This isn’t meant to be a humble brag at all, but more a:
- is this normal when blasting?
- what should I do to limit the swol?

Thanks!

So after your first set of bicep curls your muscles are so pumped you can't bend your arm much for another set?

How long have you been lifting?
I’m in my late 40s. About 3 years now. PED only recently. Took a long break in my 20-40s due to work, but religiously before then during my teens and early 20s.

I guess the q is, does PED result in faster swol?!

Yes. Usually do 4 sets of 8-10 with failure on the 4th set. But now it’s like I can’t flex after my first set. Weird af and annoying to be honest.

Every time a muscle contracts it gets shorter till it is stretched back out. Plus after a set there is more blood in the muscle. So if you think a muscle will stretch out and feel as limber when it is engorged with blood and shorter from being filled up with the blood then your expectations are probably not on track.

Yeah. You’re spot on. I’m just extremely tight and need to stretch out like @Kralteramon also said. Thanks!

we call it the pump. Yes.

I dont understand how this is new to you after 3 years of lifting.

Not new to me after the third or fourth set. New to me after the first set. First time blasting so probably related to that. Was wondering if this was common for others. That you feel it faster while on PED.

Are you taking any supplements like pre-workout, cialis, l-arginine? Pretty sure all of those increase the pump you get while lifting.

How long are your set intervals? Maybe add on some time to let your muscles get back to normal. I like 2 mins for heavy compounds, 1.5 for target isolation stuff. Some people like 3mins it depends on what your training goals are.

Yes! I’m on daily Cialis 5mg. Started with my blast. Genius. Will increase my rest time.
