Hey guys, Its Dirthand... I am starting this Thread for @readalot . This man has been going around this forum preaching this that an the other about his concerns and mission of heavy metals and crap in the gear that we use. I never really read much of the stuff he wrote but what i always noticed is that he always catch a lot of hell for. He always seem to take the criticism without resorting to low class retaliation of personal insults and so i kind of respected that. Anywho after his sabbatical (or whatever) he came back to the forum and seen that i had been making some gear and...

Thread 'Enhanced Testing Database'

Thread to track all of the great vendor / member activities in the enhanced testing arena. The other thread covers only Projects 1 - 3 (demonstration); vendor/member activity can be found.

Slowly a surveillance database for raw AAS and GH quality/impurities can be built for additional testing (additional to API purity, HPLC, etc ). If nothing is found then that's a great result to track as well. The data will be available for those interested.

Of note, it was shown by Jano that endotoxin testing on finished oils was not reliable for a range of matrices he encounters.

When a source claims pharma grade, they will need to back it up. BS COA claims don't work either. Standard HPLC testing won't do that.

If you don't like my methods and don't want to see them, please ignore me (use the ignore feature). You have the ability and every right to do so. Many have tried but few seem to be able to do it long term based on my observations.

The difference is, we manage that without leaving behind 20+ pages of obsessive pestering.

If the style of one’s (e.g. @readalot ’s) argument is embarrassing or unprofessional in the context of a debate/discussion, there’s the risk of pushing the audience to start feeling defensive about the entity one wants to convince to change behaviors, even if the audience agrees on the merits of one’s core argument and would be one’s natural allies.

That is not the optimal outcome one may be looking for. That’s the risk that is being pointed out, I’m just stating it formally. Simpler: one may lose allies who were already on the same side, based on the merits of one’s case, if they can’t stand the approach.

Debate is by its nature performative. Strategy can be as important as the merits of the case. Sometimes more so. The most effective leaders acknowledge this and work both angles.

Other factors, such as debate opponents’ style (e.g. Tracy, lol) as well as knowing one’s audience come into play, obviously. It’s not always about being the most formal/virtuous in approach.

This also applies to the vendor reps as well, but they do start with the upper hand by definition. Well…if their prices and delivery completion aren’t a shit show, and they aren’t disingenuous all the time.

I am impressed at the drive of several folks here, @readalot included, who spend their own free time pushing the vendors and participants towards safer solutions.

From time to time I cringe at some of what some harm reduction proponents write (and what defensive vendors write, obviously)…others might not, but I do, maybe that’s my personal problem. On balance, however, it’s good work. Thank you all for your commitment to harm reduction here and elsewhere.

I reserve all judgement as I haven't ordered but I will say they posted based on the rules and even posted tits, I feel this should count for something.

They still have an opportunity to turn it around. Very simple. Do the right thing. Don't make BS claims.

A simple answer would have been sufficient..."Hello, we are trying to do the best we can. Current raw purities on our products vary from xx to yy% based on ______ analysis. Of course we don't have USP grade API and we dont do all the testing required to claim pharma grade."
