Base Estradiol Level

So I was just looking at my hormone panel results prior to starting testosterone. Everything appears to be within range, but maybe the estradiol is a little low. I’m 44 years old, 5’10, about 220lbs, body fat 15-20%? No peds at the time of the panel. All the other health panels are good.

What do you guys think? Any thoughts are welcome

Albumin 4.6
Test 522
SHBG 36.6
Test free 100.1
Estradiol 19.9

My pre-TRT E2 was also on the low side. I had dropped 45 pounds and my BF was 12-15% so my E2 remained 20-24. I felt fine with low E2. Starting 100-150mg test C my E2 didn’t really move much. But the moment I injected Primo I crashed my E2.

So if in the future you have plans to try Primo or EQ keep a close eye on your E2. TRT might bring your E2 up some so give it 6-8 weeks and get labs.

I’ve probably dropped 20 pounds over the last year since I’ve started training consistently. But I’ve made a big difference in body comp. Was curious if that played a part?

I’m starting with 125 mg Test C for 3 weeks, then stepping up to 250 mg. I was going to recheck levels at 3 months. Is that too long if everything “feels” fine?

Thanks

9 weeks works. I usually get labs every 6-8 weeks whether I’m on 100mg test or 500mg test. It takes around 6-8 weeks for your serum levels to peak so you’ll be close to that when you go. But of course it you do not feel well go sooner.

And body comp definitely makes a difference. Before my weight loss I had always needed an AI on any level of exogenous testosterone. Now that is never the case.

The aromatase enzyme that converts test to E2 is abundant in fat. So the more fat the more enzyme and the more conversion. From some small studies i have seen middle of the range tends to be the healthiest place to be long term.

Those are pretty decent numbers for your age and weight. Your BF makes a difference, as the others said. But, unless your E2 is close to zero or sky high, E2 is mostly irrelevant if you're not experiencing symptoms.

3 months it should mostly have stabilized to your "new" levels if you've been consistent, but sometimes it takes longer. I check mine every month, but I'm an OCD data nerd.

I’m trying to slow roll everything. I figured 3-6 months of the test only dose. then if everything looks good add in a low dose of deca, Mainly for a little joint relief. I’m committing to run this for another 6 months before I entertain adding or increasing anything.

Being that I plan on running long term, not cycling on and off, I want to keep my hormone levels stable/healthy. In your opinion what would an average e2 level look like, 35?

I keep seeing conflicting points of view. Some say keep good ranges for long term health and others say it’s safe if there are no noticeable issues. I’m still trying to develope an educated opinion

Well, it's complicated. Everyone is different. You need a consistent dose, more blood data over time, and to pay close attention to how you feel and how you're able to train, sleep, think, fuck, etc...so you can relate all that to your data and make small adjustments as necessary until you get it exactly where you want. It just takes time.

Or, you can take the opposite tactic, blast with everything you can get your hands on, push your body to or even past the limits, and just deal with the side effects. Which is what a lot of people here do.

if you want long term stability for maximum health, gotta be patient. And do some more reading in the meantime.

By the time high 30's are hit health starts to diminish from the studies i mentioned. High 20-low 30's is my comfort zone but lower is fine by me. I can feel the same at 10 or 100. I don't go by feel as high blood pressure or glucose can feel fine. I go by blood work.

I’m similar. Mid 20’s I feel fine. Below 20 I start getting achy joints and possibility of minor injuries. The lowest it’s been is 10 and I felt pretty awful and bailed on that cycle.

My joints have been feeling old for awhile now but my libido is falling off too now. It’s been a slow regression but a noticeable decline. I initially thought low t but in hindsight maybe it is estrogen related. I should know a little more my next blood panel.

Low E2 and high E2 can cause libido issues. But achy joints is definitely a low E2 symptom. I felt like my joints were dry, my skin was dry, my hair was dry and my personality was dry and emotionless.

I don’t have too much hair left but my skin has been dry. Also emotionally flat and generally irritated. It seems to fit the bill.

Here’s a video by the Anabolic Doc
I can't get the hang of this guy. He talks around a lot of interesting topics, but I never walk away feeling like I understand anything better. This one's actually pretty good, though. He must have remembered to take his Ritalin.

Also: "Come on, guys, you know this!"
