Blood pressure monitor

I'm about to buy a new monitor. Just want to see what everyone is using, as a reliable monitor before I make the purchase.

OMRON Platinum Blood Pressure Monitor, Upper Arm Cuff, Digital Bluetooth Blood Pressure Machine

I also just bought the YHE BP Doctor Med, Blood Pressure Smartwatch.

It actually seems pretty accurate. I need to compare it over the next week to my OMRON.
Nice, curious to hear your first impressions. Does it feel accurate compared to a regular arm cuff? Do you think it’s worth the price so far?

Heart rate I use the Garmin Fenix 8. I’ve always liked their watches for running and mountain biking. In the past to get an accurate read you needed a chest strap but watches have come a long way.

The accuracy isn’t there yet. I’ve compared the watch to my OMRON several times today and Diastolic was pretty similar but Systolic for example would be 125 on the OMRON and 117 on the watch.

i dont have the finance for that im saving up for gyno surgery

Let me know if you find one that doesn't read 25 points different depending on which arm you use it on or read 30 points different between two consecutive readings. I'm about to throw every one I own out the fucking window because there's no way those numbers can be anything approaching valid with that much variance.

Especially when I do all the shit you are supposed to do like sit still in the chair for 5 minutes before taking a reading and not move or talk with the cuff at heart height. And this is with an Omron wrist cuff and two different upper arm cuffs provided by my doc.

I find that the wrist cuff ones kinda suck balls. You've got the right size for the upper arm cuffs?

The systolic pressure can be accurate with arm cuffs but if you have any sort of arm on you and are lean enough the diastolic will read off most o the time, usually lower by 10-15points.
They have done studies on this and apparently it's because a muscular arm has a more conical shape and a regular cylindrical cuff will not fit correctly.

Wrist cuffs should be better for us but I have yet to find one that is consistent in the results...they are all over the place...

Just get any one that is certified to conform to whatever standards are in place in your country, that will do it. If you really wanna be sure, buy one each from two different brands and see how they compare, but they will both give you the same numbers.
