GH can cause heart rate increases several different ways, but the strongest and most common is activation of the sympathetic nervous system, which is exactly what Cilnidipine counteracts via calcium N channel blocking.

What's impressive about this mechanism is that when the sympathetic nervous system isn't trying to ramp up your heart rate (and blood pressure by constricting vessels), N channel blocking doesn't do anything. So you don't get undesired slowing of heart rate, hypotension, or fatigue.

It's most noticeable when you get aggravated and you're used to feeling physical effects like BP rising and muscles tensing in response. The absence of these things occurring is surprising.

There is also ZypitaMag (generic pitavastatin magnesium, instead of pitavastatin calcium) via Marley Drugs in NC, which is more expensive - search for "Zypitamag Savings Program" to find it - for any docs here, Marly will refuse self-written prescriptions.

this is the exact thing I have been experiencing my whole life and L+N CCB is exactly what I needed

guess I will stockpile a bunch of cilnidipine with end of de minimus coming soon... I'm sure importing will continue but things won't be as easy as they have been.

stockpiled oils last year when they were cheap/available, definitely glad I did so now.

More like being slowly strangled lol. It could take years before things to get really difficult, but who knows. Things were pretty darn tough last spring with lots of seizures.

If your doc will prescribe it (good luck, most never heard of it), and you're over 40, insurance pays 100% (they're required by law to do that for statins for over 40's, oddly).

Yes PCT can get Pita standalone, but cant get the combos.
e.g Pita + Ezetimibe.

I had a prescription and my insurance refused it, this was a couple months ago. Would have been cash pay, and it was not cheap. They do cover most statins but only the cheaper ones - which is basically all of them except pit - rosuvastatin was $10 for 90 day supply. Maybe an appeal stating why pita was needed (ie drug interaction or prediabetes) would have worked but I didn't pursue it.

Not sure the extra $ for pitavastatin is really worth it but since I use a good amount of GH, I figure the lower interference with insulin sensitivity is probably a good thing. And there are potential benefits of being lipophilic. Strangely rosuvastatin is considered the most potent statin, but mg for mg pitavstatin is nearly 2x more potent than rosuvastatin. You can escalate the rosuvastatin dose much higher - I've seen docs prescribe 40mg/day, but the benefit to side effect profile starts inverting somewhere between 5-10mg per day.

I'm expecting the 4mg pita to be similar in effect to 10mg rosuvastatin, will check my lipid profile in a few months to see. I keep my LDL < 55 with statin + ezetimibe, that way I don't really have to worry about HDL - although the pita I think Pita has the ability to raise HDL more than other statins.

As of 2017 100% coverage of certain preventive meds and services was required by the Health Care Reform Act by all insurance plans.

Generic low-moderate dose statins for 40-75'year olds are part of it. Here's the full 2025 list. It's the same for all insurance plans. Some other company's lists don't show Pitavastatin because it just became generic recently, but they still have to cover it.

Yeah, they cover it but the co-pay is $10 per month at a minimum, which makes Indian Pharma more attractive when buying in bulk.

Thanks for posting this. My copay for rosuvistatin doesn't really bother me, but free is so much better. I guess I have to bring this to the attention of the pharmacy?
