Here down if you want your chemistry explanation. You had mostly lost me on the jump to "this is definitely polystyrene-related", and (while completely plausible, and I do agree @Primal_Pharma should replace anything that could cause contam from solvent leaching) the jump to "this is definitely related to Primal's lab gear" left me headscratching too.
But now we're going with "well, we still don't know who the bad guy is, but we're pretty sure he looks kinda like this other guy that we had an old picture of". The strongest piece of evidence so far is a casual comment from Jano in the test comments section.
Bro, this is not going to hold up in Chemistry Court.
MCT oil does not turn up as MCT oil in GCMS.
Alot of products in GCMS are not so straight forward to interpret.
Jano requested i send in a plastic (polystyrene) sample (he mentioned in his thread when i asked about it) and i so just did as he requested.
Yes the spectra is not present in all the other vendor testing we previously did.
Only vials suspected thus far are from a single vendor.
I have emailed Jano to see how we can move from suspected->confirmed, but if it's too much work I'll just move on and call it a day. At this point i've already invested a little too much more time...
Either GPC on the BB sample that soaked the PS piece or meticulously weigh the PS cut out before and after soaking in BB. After retrieving the PS piece, wash in EtOH and dry to get accurate before and after weights.
@Photon already posted the solubility of PS in BB. That Jano picked up such a relatively large amount of polymer additive in the BB sample via GCMS is telling in and off itself. This stump the chump game is tiresome. Send the BB sample off for GPC analysis if you want verification. Meanwhile a member will get accurate before and after weights on a repeat experiment soaking PS in BB.
