Should I take DHEA ?

Hi guys, im 28 years old , I’m taking 172 mg of testosterone per week and 1000 IU of Gonasi. My DHEA level is 253.7 µg/dL, which seems to be on the low side. Do you think I should supplement with 25 mg of DHEA in the morning? Or more then 25?

Do you think the ones sold on Amazon are good supplements, or are they not reliable? I live in Italy, and it would be this one.

From what I understand, DHEA supplementation is more likely to give you a bump in estradiol, and for women it gives a bump in testosterone. What are your other hormone levels looking like? DHEA is a precursor to both of those, but if you’re on T then you probably needn’t worry too much about how much T your body is making. You’re basically married to the needle anyway now, yeah?

DHeA is good for 2 things.

1) raising your E2
2) putting money into the pocket of whoever sold it to you.

The TRT salesman will tell you all about “backfilling” with DHEA and pregnenolone but if we can speak honestly among adults. It’s mostly bullshit. You will get different opinions. One thing you can do is supplement with it and check your bloodwork in 6 weeks. See if the levels came up. Keep track of how you feel. And make sure to track your ultra sensitive estrogen.

1400 ng/dl testo total

58 e2 (no bloat or some side about e2)

In italy we have not ultra sensitive e2 :(

I like DHEA and it's not expensive or cumbersome to use, i was in low levels too and 25mg a day brought it up to 380 over 2 years. Although, you're already taking HCG so you don't actually need DHEA.

If i had to chose between the two I'd gladly throw HCG in the trash and continue taking a pill a day than sourcing HCG, reconstitute, pin and pay that much for a compound that does only so little to me.

I remember you like HCG though, so keep it as is and don't take DHEA. When you get bored of pinning that thing you can start DHEA, for now I'd skip it.

That’s ok. I’d much rather live in Italy and not have the E2 assay

Your levels of 52 w/ 1400 test make sense (and the non sensitive is ok if you’re only running test). I would not add DHEA with that estrogen level.
This total testosterone level is skewed by the addition of hCG.

A few weeks ago, when I was on 205 mg of testosterone cypionate per week, my total T was around 1200 ng/dL.

I’ve since lowered the dose to 170 mg per week and added Gonasi (hCG), and that actually increased my total testosterone levels — and of course my estrogen levels as well — but I haven’t had any noticeable side effects.

I had never checked my DHEA before, and I was told it’s quite important for mood regulation.

I was just wondering whether supplementing it is necessary, or if anyone here is currently taking it.

I definitely prefer not to stop the hCG, but I was expecting my DHEA to be a bit higher.

As I asked ChatGPT, for my age, it’s considered fairly low, whereas according to the lab reference range where I had the test done, I’m right in the middle.

So, I’m not really sure.

Those test levels are very healthy with or without the HCG on board. I'm 245 lbs and my test levels are 1200 and I feel amazing.

As far as mood, I would say that estradiol is far more important there. When people talk about DHEA's impacts, they are often referring to it being used in a non-enhanced / non-HRT arena. What I mean is that when we read about things that "DHEA" does, what is often the case is that it's the test / estrogen impacts that DHEA has that exert it's benefits.

Hopefully Dr. Todd Lee has not made it to the YouTube algo's in Italy, but if he says 100 things, 99 of them are incorrect. That 1 out of 100 that is correct is that Testosterone itself (and DHEA by extension) are prohormones. We get most of the benefit of these compounds from their conversion to estradiol. That being said, high levels of test in the thousands are very helpful for anabolism and you don't want your estrogen going out of range on the high side when running high test, but things such as mood, libido, sexual functioning, etc. are usually mostly due to estradiol,.

Well, it only left to try and see for yourself what positives and negatives it has. I've heard besides mood regulation and well being it helps with sexual function making the penis more sensitive and the orgasm more intense. Don't know how accurate is this though because i think i heard it from vigorous Steve.

Here is my experience with DHEA:

If you decide to take it, control for E2, and consider a micronized version.
