18m natty been going through depression and anxiety for my whole life, I have recently tried propranolol but it made me very tired at school (I have tried 5mgs and 10mgs, will try 2.5mgs as well to see if I tolerate it well, if not ill probs chuck it out), I also tried memantine and its very effective but its not something I would want to take daily.

I have been looking into other compounds such as selank, agomelatine and Wellbutrin as they are pretty well tolerated, I wanted to see if anybody on here had any prior experience with it.

and also I posted this on here because steroid users often go through mental side effects similar to what im currently going through, making them need to find supplements/meds to mitigate/counteract these side effects.

Thank You!

Work on yourself, workout, change mindset about your life and learn how to cope with your problems, thats what grown ups do. Drugs wont cut it. Either deal with life or sit at home and cry. Its easier to find a cocktail of pills then to make steps to change things that you are not good at or satisfied with.

When I was in high school I got put on Wellbutrin. Was not a fan. Other people said kt made a difference, but I also had a philosophical problem with using it “as a crutch”. Tried therapy too, that wasn’t it. Just had to work on my mindset, change my environment and develop a better outlook on life. Get goals to work on that are concrete, make legitimate steps to improve yourself and situation, find out what and who you enjoy, spend time appropriately. Being responsible and holding myself accountable also helped so I could avoid the negative situations that impacted my mental well-being. Depression is tough but there’s a many ways to improve and alleviate symptoms, if not totally get past it without altering brain chemistry

my dad has nac powder but it stinks really bad, I might put it in empty capsules but it would probs do more harm then good with nausea lol, also once saw a study how its good for people who pick there skin which I personally deal with.

and I have heard of SAMe but never tried it, was its efficacy compared to traditional antidepressants?

Lexapro is good for anxiety. Saved my life 10mg a day. Before you get on anything be read, research and be careful as getting off is a bitch. I didn't do anything about it until 30. I suffered for years. Get a good psych and search reviews. You need someone who knows what they are doing. One last thing check for B12 deficiency. I have to take methylated B12.

Anti anxiety meds short to mid terms are a RED ZONE DONT GO THERE TYPE OF DRUG.

Anti depressants as a whole (no only SSRIs) are filled with gem that us bodybuilders should pay way more attention. They mitigate a lot of damage we do to our brain (a lot of SSRI not only promote neurogenesis quite heavily) they do make certain cycle pleasant instead of "meh". They make our routine way easier to adere and now, I can run tren without anyone knowing it (WAS NOT THE CASE BEFORE).

They have side effects but bodybuilding community tend to overblow them. Some make your libido or you peepee weaker (thats a not guaranteed SE at all, you can always change med). The zombie thing is BS. Only a few does that and those are typically the heavy one we give to suicid*** ppl.

The slight loss of energy that often leaves after 8 weeks (not a guarantee, but still people on SRRI do have energy past the initiation phase. Some SSRI can be LETHARGIC AF compared to the pro energitic/dopaminergic and overall activating/fight of flight answer of AAS can be considered a feature, not a SE. Same for libido, btw. The odds of someone on AAS losing his while on a SSRI is low. And thats mostly becauce you can't manage your e2, not fucking fluoxeine/fluvoxamine/vortioxetine/memantine or w/e

And I advise everyone to at least try vortioxetine, since its the anti depressant with the most robust increase neurogenesis and brain plasticity (BDNF and NGF). Other than that, it has some pro dopaminergic effect, help cognition accutely through cholinergicetic, glutamate, dopamine & noradraline effect, and the miriad of antagonism/agonist/inihibition effect it has on at least 6 or 7 differents "HT receptors".

edit : to those that think about wellbutrin, wellbutrin is heavily activating, but nothing to do with vortioxetiner that is only slighlty activating, thats not where the med shines.

Depression and anxiety are over-diagnosed female traits. Try practicing gratitude and working on your mindset before throwing pills at the problem. Pick up a dumbbell and curl it, meet a nice girl, and learn a trade.

Neurotransmetters arent a female trait/hobby Neurotoxicity isnt a male trait neither. Executive function, IQ and overall cognitive function doesnt have to be a woman or a man "thing"
Im (personnally) not depressed but I used AD to mitigate the cognitive damage our lifestyle induce.
And even if you have symptoms of depression, you're killing 2 birds with one stone.

At the end, your argument (being in essence stupid cuz "why not both ?") is true "toxic masculinity". Not the political one, lib/maga stuff. Thats the one that makes you leaving gains on the table because "psych meds" are for pussies and tren is for male.

We are missing the guy with "do fasted cardio, eat healthy, have a social life" and you wont need those. Completly missing the point.

Don’t care, didn’t ask + me and my baby mama are gonna snort all ur psych meds and stay up all night stealing car batteries

Anxiety for me. Comes and goes & it happens to be when my ferritin is very low, E2 isn’t under control, and then my adhd makes it worse.

Worth getting a full lab panel to see if you’re deficient in anything. Something as simple as low iron can make you anxious as hell.
Weird but it’s true.

And if you’re fine on all fronts labs wise.
You might be better off just powering thru the fatigue of the med you’re on if you like it and it works for you.

Or experiment with others. But keep a log for whatever you do. Some have great success with SSRi’s it’s possible a next step for me as well.

Im pretty against meds for anxiety, depression, ADHD, etc. They are a bandaid solution to your problems. That being said - if you need to use them temporarily to stabilize yourself thats do able but different from relying on them forever and never coming off.

My best advice would to be do some introspection as to why you are feeling this way. Start journaling your thoughts and notice any patterns/ideas that may be bothering you. Surround yourself with a good group of like-minded and healthy individuals. Hit the gym, read books, eat good and focus on levelling yourself up.

Develop positive morals/values and live life the way you would suggest to a friend or loved one. At the end of the day we only have ourselves to look up to but it doesn't mean you have to be alone on the journey.

doesnt lexapro build tolerance very quickly?

what are all the biomarkers I should get checked?

prozac and wlbutrin didnt do shit for me and I ramped up to the highest dose literally felt not different. Celexa gave me horrible sides like body jolts also didnt do shit. Mertazerpine I was given for sleep and it actually got rid of my depression so im on that now works pretty well. Ive tired other ones but cant think of them now all I know is the ssri have bad sides. oh and lexapro did nothing for me also. Is the depression something that just kind of came out of no where or was there something that triggered it like a loss in the family or something?

As someone who tried probably 99% from all those type of meds (with prescription)
I can recommend a few thing’s
1: don’t touch them
2: work on yourself and learn to be a person who doesn’t give a fk about anything
3: “thoughts are materialistic”
4: think about number 3 deeply..
5: the only pill that might give you a boost is adderall just learn how you react to it respect it and remember how you are while using it then stop using it..
6: meds can be a small tool in the box that’s all.
