Anyone have experience with anti depressants/anxiety meds

i doubt this, its designed to trick a females body into believing she is already pregnant, reducing sex drive and making them seek weak men and stable men to take care of her "child"

yeah i dont trust big pharma like that, these SSRIs and other meds just randomly modulate peoples brains and hope for the best, i say random because peoples brain chemistry is different and they just wing it, theres no testing of the brain to figure out which is good or what fits, no one can tell me just winging pills that make your brain worse or better is good, the prescribers just prescribe whatever brochure they got last, or whatever pharma company flew them out to a conference, or whatever has the least liability or whatever insurance covers, or whatever they have a gut feeling on.

and most people in these states (or out of them) aren't even self aware enough to assess themselves and their mental state. we are living in a sick world, so its no wonder people are looking for these pills to solve their issues but its definately not common sense to just trust these random drugs that come to market in the mental health category, given that most of the pills have severe side effects the FDA is totally OK with as long as you aren't doing anything illegal, they basically approve a lobotomy stack and consider it a win that youd just be there drooling instead of going to therapy or causing trouble for the medical system

if any of this stuff works for anyone, fine whatever, but its not something to be taken lightly at all and i dont think people should be talking about them like they are some sort of gear ancillary thats ok

an uncle of mine got on one of the SSRI , he told me they really helped him, told me if I ever needed them, he would send me some in an envelope LOL. he said he did the same for two friends, and he told me how right after taking their first dose, they told him "wow this must be how normal people feel all the time!, I must really need this stuff!"

It's not that deep bro.

SSRI meds increase seratonin. The side effects like delayed orgasm is not due to the mental effects but cross binding in peripheral tissues. This is similar to how non DHT steroids create ED or sexual dysfunction (Decca, tren). This is why you get nausea as seratonin increases in the stomach.

I don't think anyone seriously considers a pill that comes in a blister pack to be life changing. If your life is shit it's shit. Poverty is poverty, betrayal is betrayal. Divorce is divorce.

All these drugs do is increase seratonin so you can function and get your shit together. For example let's say you're going through a divorce, then you get mental health issues.

If you let it go untreated you lose your job. Then shit really spirals out of hand.

I can't believe I am defending these fuck arse drugs. But here we are lol

Edit: people pop cabergoline all the time. That increases dopamine in the brain. I don't understand the hang-up over SSRIs. I think it must be the side effects and the withdrawal.

yeah idk dude, the whole medical system is f***ed so I dont trust anything

the VA hands ssri out like candy so im pretty jaded. I went in there for tachycaridia and they tried to give me anti depressant, and I said this is not for RHR and they said yes it is, I said no its not, then she rewrote the prescription for the same anti depressant but used the generic name to fool me like im just going to take a random pill.

real talk, they give out ssri, benzos, other MH drugs to shut people up / placebo them

maybe itll stop you from offing yourself during a messy divorce but do we really have the stats on that

doctors dont take these pills, they prescribe them to the peasants so they feel like they are helping their shitty life

how do we knoww there is abrain imbalance or wwhat these drugs are doing? we cant, its all anecdotal and people are generally too dumb to be unbiased

the more I read you, the more I see the average US meathead in a redstate (not necesarily MAGA but still). You guys are really like that. I dont mean it like bad. More like : yeah thats usa baby

About contraception, try using meta analysis before your brain on a gram of test, thats usually what I do, you should try. That helps reshape my opinion. Its not black and white. I trust my brain, but I also trust science (in this case : meta analysis, which can have his own biais if its done by re * * * * *) :)
Usually its a good combo.

For the rest, neh, I'm already having issues writing in your own langage, but you added another layer of murica to murica, wont keep this conv going, sorry.

Wild how defending something that helps people with serious issues is like debating politics in the world we live in now.

Everyone is so hard headed, stubborn, and set in their ways. And it’s honestly mental health issues at that point. People need to open their minds and realize there’s so much more to the world than what they see or are obsessed with.
“Oh my daddy and an influencer/political activist said SSRI’s are the devil & fuck you up. So now I’m going to shit on everyone who takes them and not read studies or literature on them. But I know I’m right. And you’re just a bitch on meds.”

ADHD meds help
Anxiety meds help
Steroids help muscle gain meanwhile changing your brain/thoughts as well.
Stop being so closed minded anti med people. Grow up.

What else are the doctors going to do tho?

They sit with you for like 5 mins and the only tools they have are drugs.

I don't know what military life is like or the states.

I agree the medical system is fucked. But long term I think most steroid users will encounter issues that could be helped by an SSRI.

France. Cant wait for your opinion (sorry, truth).

How do you report the libido of someone? You put scientics in their bed h24 with a 4K camera to know how many time they had sex this month?
Bloodwork every month with all sexuals hormones markers? Yeah we know very well thats a perfect proxy for perfect libido, us bodybuilders. A good portion is individual and you know it.
But hey found one with some bloodwork (rest of the studies I found are all self reported "desire, libido, orgasm, pleasure, blabla")

A handful of people in this thread who are against them also have personal experience with them. All the literature in the world can say that they’re great but when they’ve done a lot of harm to people you know, what are you likely to believe? One can have an open mind and still come to the conclusion that they’re overprescribed, can do more harm than good, and we probably shouldn’t be pushing them on an 18-year-old whose brain is still developing.

I know, you can't really, but self reporting is unreliable , especially sensitive topics. Most people on these sensitive topics just say "normal" or "no change" , some girl isn't going to have this question sprung no them and reflect on their libido, or if they aren't even asked directly but have to specifically bring it up to their doctor. , not to mention independent of monthly cycles, boyfriends, moods whatever. does the average woman even know it can effect mood or libido?
something that affects hormones, obviously it would affect libido in some way. i dont need a study

"Hormone levels: Progestin-only methods that strongly suppress ovulation can reduce endogenous estradiol/androgens"

in my experience all the women ive dated that werent on hormonal birth control were hornier than the ones who were and more sexually aggressive

i swear ive seen a study about how birth control affects a womans seeking of partners or attractiveness of partners or whatever

It’s real. I read it some years ago. Women on BC are more likely to prefer men with more feminine features and when they come off the BC they lose attraction. Very interesting for sure.

Progesterone is very anti-estrogen. When estrogen is highest (ovulation), women have that stretchy clear discharge that’s a similar consistency to raw egg whites, perfect for delivering the sperm to the egg. When progesterone takes center stage, that cervical mucus thickens and gets sticky/creamy and libido will trend downwards. Progestin-based birth controls mock that phase of the cycle on a loop.

How do you know women don't get turned on more by sex when there is a risk of pregnancy. A deep psychological thrill of sex for women is impregnation. I think birth control would make this thrill go away.

Also mentally unstable or ill people on SSRIs are probably less likely to be highly sexed. I think the meds get blamed for human factors.

Birth control suppress ovulation. Ovulation make horny. Easy enough to understand?

I didn’t get into specifics. It was a general statement to cover the mass population of brain dead people lol.
